Hi,

Does anyone have any photos by the onsite photographer at ROR? I think his name is Michael? Any advice? Do alot of people bring there own photographer with them? Or hire outside the resort? How much do peopel generally pay to bring a photographer along?

Thanks for all your help!

I used Michael and I had some good and bad about him. He is great to work with and takes wonderful pictures. I believe he is overworked and doesn`t have enough help as we had a hard time getting our photo`s before we left and we were there for two weeks (photo`s were not ready at 5pm the night before we left and we were leaving at 7am the next day). We did end up getting them but at 9pm and without much editing.

There will be some in my review over the next couple days.

For Brian, we have to purchase a day pass for him, which apparently is $50US. But I figure it is worth it to get someone that comes recommended. I also heard that Michael's prices went up considerably in January, so I would double check the price lists which were posted on here earlier.

Our wedding is really small (7 guests) and not really a reception, just dinner in the evening. We purchased the 3 hour package from Brian and since he lives so close to the resort, he said that we could split the package where he is there for 1 1/2 hours for the ceremony and family pics, and then would come back just before sunset to take pics of my FH and I on the beach at sunset. I thought that was great of him!

I'll certainly let you know how it goes.

Hey Krista!

Generally to bring an outside vendor, if they are not local, the photographer asks for travel and accommodations to be paid for, in addition to the cost of photos. Most likely though they have special destination rates to keep your costs down, but still allow you to use the photographer of your dreams!

Hope this helps :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
