    Hi,
Does anyone have any photos by the onsite photographer at ROR? I think his name is Michael? Any advice? Do alot of people bring there own photographer with them? Or hire outside the resort? How much do peopel generally pay to bring a photographer along?
    Thanks for all your help!

          Hi Krista,
We actually went with an outside photographer who lives in the area, and came recommended. His website is Brian Design - Photography & Website Design by Brian Nejedly - Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
Our wedding is March 9th, so I can certainly let you know how the pics turn out, but he has been great to deal with.

I used Michael and I had some good and bad about him. He is great to work with and takes wonderful pictures. I believe he is overworked and doesn`t have enough help as we had a hard time getting our photo`s before we left and we were there for two weeks (photo`s were not ready at 5pm the night before we left and we were leaving at 7am the next day). We did end up getting them but at 9pm and without much editing.
There will be some in my review over the next couple days.

I used Michael for my wedding in November. He was great to work with and they were accomodating. I have pics on photobucket if you are interested.

For Brian, we have to purchase a day pass for him, which apparently is $50US. But I figure it is worth it to get someone that comes recommended. I also heard that Michael's prices went up considerably in January, so I would double check the price lists which were posted on here earlier.
Our wedding is really small (7 guests) and not really a reception, just dinner in the evening. We purchased the 3 hour package from Brian and since he lives so close to the resort, he said that we could split the package where he is there for 1 1/2 hours for the ceremony and family pics, and then would come back just before sunset to take pics of my FH and I on the beach at sunset. I thought that was great of him!
I'll certainly let you know how it goes.

                      Hey Krista!

Generally to bring an outside vendor, if they are not local, the photographer asks for travel and accommodations to be paid for, in addition to the cost of photos. Most likely though they have special destination rates to keep your costs down, but still allow you to use the photographer of your dreams!

                      Hope this helps :)
                      Robyn
