My guests used the travel mugs for their drinks at the bar, at the pool or beach or just walking around the resort. Typcially drinks come in small plastic cups so having a travel mug means that you get more to drink with less walking back & forth to the bar.

I went with travel mugs that had a lid. I didn't think a handle was too important but figured that a lid would be useful so that people wouldn't have to worry about any spills while walking back or forth or about anything getting into their drink if they put it down while at the beach or something.

You should really go with what your budget permits. Compare costs in terms of size of the cup, how many you have to buy for a real discount & ofcourse shipping!

Personally, fans for me were a must have! I think this is especially true if you're getting married on the beach. My guests appreciated having the raffia fans during the ceremony since it was warm & sunny.

I can't comment about the travel candles since I didn't use them, but I don't think they would have been used by my guests cuz they were rarely in their rooms & I didn't hear anyone complain about their room smelling "musty" as has been mentioned here & there.
I guess it depends on how you think your guests would use them. Are they going to be a wedding favor or are you giving them out to be used in their rooms?

i heard the logo might come off the cup with sunscreened hands so i was thinking handles. but now that i've discovered waterproof stickers i think i'll take that route and just order blank travel mugs. sounds like insulated with lids are the way to go. good point about not getting stuff in the drink

thanks for helping me making my decision. fans are in, candles are out

i'm also adding to my OOT bags blank CDs in bubble envelopes complete with mailing address and stamps so my guest can burn all their trip/ wedding pics on CD and mail it back to us

We bought our travel mugs at the dollar store if you are worried about cost. I am a strong supporter of the Travel Mug. Every one of our guests used them. People didn't have to get up as often for drinks, they didn't have to worry about it spilling and it kept it cold for those who dozed off. Also environmentally you should see how many cups resorts go through in even one hour. We personallized them by purchasing a sharpie paint marker (that in my trail run didn't rub off) but they got very scratched up. I brought it with me and kept changing what my mug said...bride to be...just married..no rum today...Maybe I should have invested in a mini sharpies and let everyone personalize there own. It would have been fun.

girls I have gone crazy on my OOT bags! I find little deals and just go crazy! One of the items I got was acutally from walgreens. It was a waterbottle filled with all kinds of little goodies. From spray on hand sanitizer to tissues some chapstick and all kinds of little things. I figured the bottle would be great to take for excursions and it came with a few other little surprises!

That would be hysterical...probably a bit hit!

It makes me think of the scene in Austin Powers Gold Member when they're in Austin Powers' Dad's room and he says, "say it in english english". lol

I don't know why it won't let me edit my post but I read through all of the posts. Instead of a USB stick we're going to create a wedding photo account through shutterfly or some other website. Then we'll give everyone the log-in and password so that everyone can see everyone else's pictures. I got this idea from Simistar :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
