That's good. You can save money on the alterations. I bought my dress 6 months ago so hopefully I still like it and it still fits.

I had my dress mad to a custom length because of the lace. Too short for heals but I didn't want to be tripping on it while walking along the san in bare feet.

We're having a Canadian reception in February too and I'm thinking about hemming my dress to a cocktail length for that. Is anyone else altering their dresses for a second reception?

Hey Megan-

I know Yamille had a whole thread on this, but I cant find it now. So I will try to recap, So her seastress gave her a hell of a time about hemming it to her heels she wanted to wear at the reception (went barefoot at ceremony). Anyways she went against what the seamstress said and hemmed it to her heels and said it was fine she did not have touble walking and not tripping over her dress in the front as the seamstress had worried about.

Hi

I am getting married Nov 9 2009 in Montego Bay!!! Just sent my invitations out the other day with NOO save the date as we just booked it YIKES!!! I have tons of questions as this island wedding is really throwing me for a loop?? It seems more difficult to plan for an away wedding! Are you ladies making all your center pieces at home then packing them with you? What are you guys doing for a photographer? They all seem soooo expensive. Any advice will help.

Thanx

It seems that everyone almost has everything done! Great job. Now, I wonder, how many of you are procrastinating about writing vows ? I know I am! I also have to do programs and menu cards and the like. I wish I could just hire someone to do it for me! I really suck at things like that....

Welcome Love 3.You should check out the Jamaica brides threads they'll have more info on the actual photographers that you could use. I am however making my own centerpieces and mailing them (along with a bunch of other stuff) to my wc a month before the wedding. I don't know what I'm actually doing for centerpieces but I know I'm not doing flowers. I was in Pier 1 yesterday looking for ideas bc they were having a big sale (and I love love love that place) but nothing really jumped out at me.

I am so lost on what I'm doing for programs and menu cards. I was gonna do the fan programs with the refresher fans from OTC (that I've already purchased). But now I'm thinking I will decorate those fans to use them as favors and then do reg programs bc I have alotta info I want to add that won't really fit on the small piece of paper I'd have to use for the fans.

That's where I purchased my invitations. They do have a great selection. I like the menu cards you selected.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
