Did you book your resort? If so, why?

Well I guess since I started this I should up date that we have selected our resort……..Moon Palace. I have sent in a reservation request and am trying to work them on a time slot. The one I wanted was already taken. Here are the reasons I have selected MP

1. Very big so my parents who are divorced will not constantly run into each other

 

2. Tons of restaurants to choose from. I think most of my friends and family will stay on the resort during their stay so I wanted them to have plenty of food options

3. They are kid friendly and have a section that I’ve heard seems to draw more kids in….which means we can also find nice quiet areas away from the kiddos (I am a teacher and love kids but sometimes you want quiet)

4. Have great wedding packages that work well for me. I feel like I am getting a lot more for my money. I am a bride on a budget. Their rooms are not priced too high so I will not feel like I am forcing my guest to pay a ton to be at the same resort as us.

5. If you stay at one of the palace resorts you get a free pass to visit any of their other resorts during your stay. We are staying at the MP after the wedding but are planning on having a day to ourselves at Adventura Spa Palace.

6. I hear that you can be there for over a week and still not do all of the activities they offer…this is great!

7. I like that they have a wedding gazebo for ceremonies

8. I saw a lot of great reviews on Tripadvisor.

Hope this is helpful for those of you who have not decided. Thank you gals for all you input as to why you chose the place you did!

I'm having a dilema and my wedding is 4-month's away!!!! I am having to choose between Valentin and Excellence. They are both great resorts, but if I have the wedding at Excellence on 6.13.09 then our only time option for the wedding is 11AM. So I am now looking to try and have the ceremony at a private beach location, or try for the Valentin. Any suggesstions? Is anyone else having an early day wedding?

Barcelo Maya!! We looked at 6 resorts, and decided on barcelo because. . .

1) Still has the mexican feel to it- ie: open air huts, the colors and architecture of the resort. Many of the resorts are going for that deco feel-w everything enclosed, and block buildings, and we are not fans of that style!

2) GREAT reviews

3) The best beach out of the 6 that i visited!

4). My parents have stayed there before, and just raved about it!

5) It's just beautiful!

That's funny! We are having the same dilema - choosing between Valentin and Excellence. (Luckily we have more than four months to decide.) Let us know what you choose!

Our criteria:
1. Adults Only
2. Chapel, gazebo or sheltered area for ceremony
3. Must have shuttles or golf carts to drive our mums around (they are not good walkers)
4. Nice beach - I have been heavily influenced by the pictures on TripAdvisor and the beaches at these two resorts look fabulous!

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
