I just booked today my wedding date January 17th 2011 at Majestic!!

Am I crazy thinking I can plan a wedding for 35 ppl in 6 months?

HUGH relief, isnt even the word!!! So happy!

I was looking at the labarcaza but we'll have a 6 month old and I just it'll be easier to be at the resort (fairly close to the rooms) in case we need something or baby gets fussy. I think we may go to the Steakhouse and then rent a bar for a couple of hours after. Im still undecided on getting the DJ people have been talking about on here. Does anybody know what kind of music he plays?? Or if we should just use an Ipod?

Anyhow, it'll all work out Im sure!! Thanks =)

Hi Congrats on getting your date! DJ Mannia will play whatever kind of music you ask. They truly have a very wide selection. He will take your suggestions or just read the crowd if you dont want to make a list of songs to play. We just had them at our wedding on June 11th and they were fantastic.

I booked DJ Mannia already for my March 5, 2011 wedding! All the reviews I've read are excellent so I'm glad he's booked! I'm looking at photographers now. Anyone else getting married that week? I can share Phil or Mike Steingard. I love their work!

 

I'm having my ceremony on the beach at 5 pm and my reception is at the Wet Bar. i'm going to go with the buffet. I think their liquor packages are ridiculous being that it is an all-inclusive hotel so we are buying certain bottles of what we know people will drink and pay for a bartendar.

 

Has anyone brought their own chair covers and sashes? Is there a cheaper solution that what the hotel offers?

Congratulations! We just got back from getting married at the Majestic, and had our reception at the Wet Bar. It was the perfect place to have our reception - we loved it! We had DJ Mannia, and he was fabulous! The extra liquor package is totally unecessary - we just went with the standard package, and none of our guests missed the mixed drinks. The regular package includes beer, wine, and champagne.

 

As for the decorations, we went with one of the Majestic Decoration packages (I think they have 3 packages and we went with package 2) and I would highly recommend that. I know it may seem costly, but it is totally worth it. Their decorations actually exceeded my expectations - the tables were beautiful. The package included the chair sashes, which were also on the chairs for the ceremony. There were also table runners, and it included the centerpieces. They put little stones on the tables, and had menus. I have a picture that I will attempt to post - not sure how that will turn out!

Awesome, P&B2010. Yeah I def want to have a beautiful setup and am glad to hear the setup was great for you. How many guests did you have? I'd love to see your pictures. Was Sandra your WC? Do you have any control with the hotel to make sure guests stay near each other since it's a big resort. Not a huge issue but just wondering when everyone books their room, if I can mention they are here for a wedding and maybe put them in the same area.

 

Who was your photographer? Did you encournter mosquitos during the reception? I've read this in previous reviews but now i'm not sure if it was Majestic Elegance or Elegance hotel. I was on a thread for the latter hotel thinking it was the Majestic Elegance. OOPS!

Glad to hear positive comments on the decorations package, it was one of the things I am trying to decide on. I definately want a nice set-up but don't know how many decorations I want to bring down with me. I am also having our reception at the Wet Bar. Pics would be great to see!

Looks like the wet bar is a popular choice. I've seen so many pretty pictures in that area.

 

I need to find the shades of sashes they hotel has. My bridesmaids are wearing buttercup color dresses and I want the sashes to be that color and not a bright yellow color. I could deal with a pale yellow.
