HELP Grand Palladium Brides!!!!

Hi,

I'm getting married in April 2010 at the Grand Palladium and I decided to bring my own photographer. Not all of the packages at the Grand Palladium include photographs. I figured that since this is the one thing that I'll really have to look back on, I'm going to splurge on this area.

Does anyone know what the vases are like that they provide? I really want tall ones so that I can put a flower submerged in water inside and then a floating candle on top.

Also, which is a better location: the gazebo or the beach?

Has anyone witnessed a wedding there? Is there a substantial difference in the decorations from package to package?

Thanks!!!!

Hi!!

No nothing back yet and starting to worry a little. I did talk to another bride who used her as well and she said she waited over 9 weeks!! I emailed her last week for an update and still haven't heard back so I will be emailing her again this morning! I'll let you know what she says!

I was married June 10, 2009 at the Grand Palladium Jamaica.

You do not have to use True Colours Photography for your photos.

Depending on what wedding package you choose, you may get 7-8 complimentary 5x7 photos.

We flew our photographer down with us for the week and told the wedding co-ordinator we would not need their photographer, however they showed up on the day of the ceremony and snapped their photos even though we told them we would not be purchasing any photos from them, as we had our own photographer.

They were a bit intrusive in that our own photographer couldn't even get up close to us to shoot (2 resort photographers present).

Our guests were shouting to our photographer to "GET IN THERE" and "Tell them to get out of the way" thats how in the way of our photographer they were. They did take some nice photos though.

You are allowed to bring your own photographer, you are just not allowed to hire a local Jamaican photographer from the surrounding areas.

Obviously the Grand Palladium has an Agreement with True Colours and that would take away from any of the profits True Colours was to make, if you were to hire an local, outside photographer.

I understand there is a new Wedding Co-ordinator now....I dealt with Jascynthia, so just double check with the new co-ordinator in case things have changed (as it appears this happens often).

Any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!

Cheers Ladies!

Ochie Bride. The food was great at the Grand Palladium.
Not one complaint whatsoever. There is something for everyone, including the most pickiest eater on the planet! The buffet changes themes every night of the week - Mexican, italian, creole, etc...and the a la cartes were pretty good too. There is something for everyone.

"Has anyone witnessed a wedding there? Is there a substantial difference in the decorations from package to package?"

hi, my future hubby and I have witnessed a few weddings there while we were checking it out for our own. The decorations are diff. We chatted with the wedding cor. and she showed us in pic what came with what package. with the cheapest package, if you have a beach front wedding you will only get an arch its not decorated at all.(bamboo arch) I havent seen one of these but I asked anyway because I wanted to know as well.

As for the weddings we witnessed, they were beautiful! thewave.gifthewave.gif the ones we seen on the beach had chair covers, and the arch was done up with flowers and tull. I didnt see one with any runners but i think it comes in the packages.. i cant remember. I think we have pretty much picked the one we want but we will wait till we get there in May 2010 for our wedding before we pay for it and decided after looking at further details. Im sorry if this wasnt much help!! its been a very long day for me. S&M.gif

Just wanted to throw this out there-we are planning to bring walkie talkies with us to the resort as our cell phones will not work there (and if they did they would probably cost a fortune). My fi and I probably won't be spending much time together in the days just before the wedding - he has friends he hasn't seen in a while that will be there and I have family I only see once every few years, plus I will probably be busy finalizing everything for the wedding (we are spending a week on our own after the wedding). This way if I need to find him (or he needs to find me) we won't have to search the resort. I will let everyone know after the wedding how well this works out for us!

Good idea- this would've helped our group track each other down!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
