I understand there is a new wedding coordinator. Does anyone have her contact info? And does she reply to messages? I'm thinking not, but thought I would try.

Thanks!

Tara
I got married there in May too with no sign of my marriage certificate yet.

Finally gave in this week and went straight to the registrar's office.

Here's the link: Registrar General's Department - Marriage Application

Fingers crossed that their 7-10 day express delivery is more reliable than going through the hotel wedding coordinators....

I have a lot of family that live in Jamaica. Therefore, most of them will be driving down for the ceremony. I'm a little concerned about the cost of having people attend that are not guests of the hotel. I expect about 40 people, and I think that there will be about 15 of them that are staying at the hotel. That makes for 25 people that I'd have to purchase day passes for. Has anyone had this experience? Do you have any advice? I believe the guest passes are around 100 dollars each. That's a heck of a lot of money just to allow people to enter the complex. I still have to consider meals and other amenities. Any advice would be helpful. Thans!

My photographer is booked, I am so excited, Diane has already proved to be a god send with advice and support. I am already happy with the choice and I have not even had one photograph taken. A link to her website is Negril Wedding Photographers, Montego Wedding Photography, Jamaica Wedding Photographer, Jamaica Weddings, Photojournalism.

Her name is Diane and her sons name is Richard. She was recommended on this site. One less worry.

Thank goodness.

As my wedding is in October (and coming up fast!)-I thought I would check if any future brides want any particular feedback or would like any area of the resort checked out for their wedding. I have never been to the Palladium before so of course it makes it a little difficult when you are trying to plan your big day. Friends of mine had stayed at the Palladium in February and I was kicking myself for not asking them to check a few things out for me to help make my planning a little easier! Anyways, message me if you think of anything-I would be happy to help out a fellow bride!

Thans Islandbride2b, It was! and I hope you have the same great experience we had. I still love opening up my slide show and watching it, I do it all the time :)

A word of advice to all, if you are brining your own photog, let them know you don't need the resort photog We found him very annoying and our photog found him to be very pushy, like he was trying to make sure she didn't get good shots. Shortly after the ceremony I actually had to excuse him and he seemed really ticked off. But we really wanted to enjoy the steel drum band and have pictures taken of us dancing, and all he wanted to do was set up typical posed shots. Asking him to leave was a good decision :)

Ahhh!!! I just found out the main pool will be closed for the whole time my guests and I are at the resort.... Not good news. I hope my guests aren't too disappointed. My brother had received an email saying the resort is giving them a 15% refund because of it so now I have to make sure everyone gets money back because we all booked through different tour operators.... I guess it could be worse but I was really looking forward to the swim up bar.

and to make things worse I just looked at the AC vacations website and it shows that the Blue Lagoon (which we have booked for our reception) is going to be closed for renovations..... this is pretty stressful when there is only 39 days until the big day.

Here are the details for the GPLH. I am so sorry these renovations are taking place while you are there.

Please note we have been advise on some upcoming renovations that will take place in the next weeks:

The blue lagoon restaurant will be closed for renovation, having our 2 other buffets open to guests. Indian and Italian restaurants closed also for renovations but our guests can dine alternatively in them. All the other restaurants and bars are fully working.

Pool Renovation Update:

The spa pool will be closed from Aug 25-September 14, 2009. The Main pool will be closed from September 24 for 30 days and is schedule to open October 31, 2009. The 2nd pool at Grand Palladium will be closed from September 10 - September 25, 2009 and will reopen September 26, 2009. The 2nd pool at Lady Hamilton section section of property will be closed from September 17 , 2009 - October 02, 2009.

It really sucks that the renovations are happening during your trip. You will be surround by all your loved ones and that will make it okay. Try and I know it is hard to relax. shots.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
