Hi KJSouthie,

I noticed your post while I was going through this whole threat and we're both from Boston! Small world! I'm getting married on January 19, 2013, so maybe we can help each other out a little bit! Hope the planning's going well!

I'm a newbie to this forum and also looking at OCT for Jan/Feb 2013.  Have you had any luck emailing with Ana and getting more information?  I've emailed her a few times and have yet to hear anything.. its so frustrating!  :(  My fiance and I are looking at around 100-120 people and we're trying to figure out how the cost is going to break down.  Seems like we're both in the same boat!  Have you decided on a date yet?

I'm interested to know to. Does anyone know, if you bring your own decorations do they charge a fee to set them up?

Hello, thank you! We brought our own lanterns down, however I do know that they have some at the resort, but not sure what the cost would be.

Hey!

I think you can totally do November 2012 if you get a move on setting your wedding date and getting your save the dates out asap.  The only problem you may run into is that some guests may not be able to save money in time for your wedding.  Just remember though the people who really want to be at your wedding will find a way.  AND you'll hear money excuses coming out the ying yang whether you gave your guests 1 year notice or 6 months.

Good luck!

I have to thank all of you for the awesome posts, pictures, tips and advice. I have learned a lot by reading everything here.

We were originally booked at the Azul Sensatori which I love but we had to change it after finding out a lot of our guests could not afford it. Now I am trying to choose a new resort but am freaking out. We really want to get married November this year. Am I being unrealistic in terms of time.........seriously freaking out here!

Hi Ladies!  I have also been lurking around on here for a few weeks too, and finally made the leap.  My date is set for February 24, 2013.  I can't wait to start doing some real planning, and you guys have already helped me out with so many ideas.

AwayWeGo - your pictures are beautiful!  I will definitely be looking into your photographer as well.  How far in advance did you book him?

Hi Josie,

My wedding is on June 2nd and I am bringing a bunch of decorations with me. They said they will not charge me a fee for them and they also kindly agreed to take care of setting them up.

Happy planning!

Thanks TropicLover. We actually sent save the dates out about a year ago. It was more like a save the month! So everyone is well aware. We just need an actual date now!  Do you think I should send out STD's again when we have the date set?

@ Archlily, Juan Navarro was worth every penny, I can't wait to get the rest of our photos from him! I booked him about 10 months in advance of our wedding. He's very reasonably priced, and very professional. Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
