Josie Fiorda, we just had 4 families with little ones with us at our wedding at OCT. The kids ranged from about 16 mos to 4 years old, and they loved the kids pool and area. I don't think the kids were old enough to take part in the program, but they all raved about the amenities for kids at the resort. Good Luck!

Brides to be anyone planning to do OOT bags for their guests? I'm wondering if Ana would allow me to ship them to her at the hotel prior to my arrival and also if the staff will place them into the guest rooms for their check in. Anyone have info on this? Thanks ladies:-)

according to the wedding package it says they DO accept packages, but they also charge $4 per room to put the packages in! depends how much you're sending, but might be easier/better to pay for an extra bag, and give out the bags at a welcome cocktail party or something...

@andecker23-  We are doing OOT bags and because of the $4 charge I chose to give them out when the guests arrive at the hotel.  The hotel is small enough and if your party is small enough you can personally greet them when they arrive at the lobby.  We are also having a welcome cocktail party and plan on giving it out then if I don't catch them at the lobby.  You can mail things to Ana before hand.  Ask her for the exact address to mail to and she will give you it.  I am doing this with my favors. :-)

@Andrea28-  I don't think it is refundable.  :-( but I bet you can negotiate depending on how long ago it was placed.

Hi lbaker!

That's so great that we're getting married on the same day!  The only thing that we're sure about is that we're having the ceremony on the beach.  We're not sure yet if we're having the reception indoors in a banquet hall or on one of the terraces. I haven't read a lot of good things about the resort photographers, so I want to hire an outside photographer, but I'm still trying to convince my fiance about that one! What time were you planning on having your ceremony?

Right now we're scheduled for 2pm on the beach, because somebody had the 4pm slot already! ;)  I'm actually hoping to switch our ceremony to 4pm on one of the terraces. We are waiting to hear back from the wedding coordinator. If they won't allow 2 weddings at 4pm (in different locations), then we may have to choose a different date.

I haven't chosen a photographer yet, but I've been in contact with several for pricing (Dean Sanderson, Juan Navarro), and exploring a few others. I haven't chosen a reception package just yet, because we don't know how many guests are coming.

Have you sent out invites or save-the-dates yet? How many guests will you have?

I haven't chosen colors either. At this point, we're not having attendants, so I would only need colors if we do chair decor, etc. What are you using?

I wonder if there's anything we can share to help defray costs for each other.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
