What fun is a wedding with only 8 people well 10 including us. I'm starting to re-think whether or not I want to pay for the wedding package with just that many people going. Maybe I should just do the free package now...

Well that's my vent for today...

I'm sorry that people are blowing off your wedding day. I know how important it is for people to be there, to celebrate, and the share with you. Its important to me as well. I probably would be sad about that also. But Sweetie let me remind you, its YOUR day. My brother got married in the Bahamas 3 years ago and it was only 10 of us and we had a blast. the most important people will be there for you. I'm sure you will have fun just the 10 of you, in fact I promise you will, just wait and see. Because when it's all said and done you'll look back on the day and realize it was only about you and him anyway. When it comes to the wedding package go with your gutt. If you really dont see the need, dont spend the money. smile03.gif

Everything will work out this is just something to throw you off course for the moment. Just remember May 14th is comeing and it will be a day that you'll have to scrap the smile off your face.

I'm so sorry that people are dropping out and things are now going to be different than you initially envisioned your wedding, but just as Lauren said, it's your day and it's going to be fabulous! It doesn't matter how many people show up - it matters what the 10 of you make of it. Have a blast and make it a day to remember!

Lauren, you look great in your dress!!! I love it! Are you taking a hair stylist with you? I'm going to wait until fall to go dress shopping hopefully there will be some sales.

Mesita, girl I'm in the same boat as you, Lee and I arenâ€t having any attendees bc I know so many of my friends and family will "say" they are coming and not show....so I am visualizing an intimate ceremony with my most important peeps...and I'm good with that. Be sure to register so all those people who donâ€t show will hopefully get you great giftssmile03.gif

Awww thanks girls! You all made me feel a lot better. Today was a day full of tears but I'm okay now!

So on another note...I also learned today that Excellence has a 35% off promotion. We are trying to get out rate changed because it would save us like $1000.00.

One other thing I learned is that if you are staying in an Excellence Category room for 7 nights you can get the $850 package for free and then if you want to upgrade to one of the other packages you only pay the difference! Did you guys know that??

Sensatori,

I am only inviting 12 people to my wedding, and I'm still going to use the Silver or Gold package. I think it will be more intimate with just my nearest and dearest, maybe you will feel that way on your special day, too :) On the bright side, you won't have to spend half of your trip welcoming, checking on, and keeping up with all of those guests. I would have had like 120 people if I had it here in SC, and am so excited that now I don't have to be responsible for making sure that I made each and every guest feel welcome, be entertained, and schedule rehearsals, rehearsal dinners, etc.

I still haven't heard back from Yamina on the availability of my Oct. 3rd date...how long did ya'll have to wait?

Are you working with a travel agent? They can sometimes get info quicker than we can. Yamina does take a long time to respond. Just keep emailing her until she responds is what I suggest. It might be annoying but whatever! Or maybe try calling??

There are 18 days until my wedding and I am still waiting to finalize details with Yamina!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
