Excellence Playa Mujeres Brides Post Here!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am also getting married on April 17 at EPM! Lucky day for sure!

I was quoted 1200 for the DJ for the reception and that included all of the equipment and everything. We were also quoted $200 for the cold fireworks which is something that I really want...it looks AMAZING in photos.

We have not 100% decided on if we should have the DJ or not. I know that they can really add to the atmosphere and as an event planner myself, I konw that they can really make a difference in the party. My concern is that we have some really specific songs that we want played and tone we want to keep for the event and I am worried that they will not play from our list because it reduces their ability to be creative. decisions, decisions...

So excited. We just booked Del Sol Photography for a Beach & Cenote Trash the Dress session on the 20th - 3 days after we get married! We are getting the best of both worlds Excellence for our wedding and Del Sol for some photos and a fun all day excursion. Everything is falling into place so nicely.

cole379 it is very nice to kind-of meet you!

We have no idea if we will hire a DJ or not (but thanks for the pricing) - I do love that light-up floor and know what you mean about creating an atmosphere. We are open to doing it but I think it all depends on how many of our invited guests get to make the trip. Either way we love that we do not have to start thinking about anything until a month or two before the wedding. It makes it so relaxing! I think I'm just going to have my coordinator send the resort coordinator the photos of what we want and just trust that the best will manifest for us. Easy and relaxing.

Keep me posted on your plans and any updates you hear from the resort :)

Before you know it the holiday's will be over and we'll be on a plane to Mexico!

Hi Laura,

I am getting married May 5th 2012 and currently in talks with both Gustavo and Ileana as I also have IN WRITING that it is simply a $100 per photographer vendor fee (a $500 photography fee was never mentioned when I inquired). We will see how this turns out! Otherwise all of the wedding planning has gone off without a hitch! It's nice to see that Gustavo is faster in his response time than Yamina was...

I'll let you know how things go!

Hi!

Are you booking with Lori or Lincoln from Moments that Matter? They both seem immensely talented and my friend who was married at Dreams Tulum was lucky enough to have them as a duo for her wedding. They are both cleared to photograph at EPM also. Sooo looking forward to our May 5th wedding!

I have booked Lincoln with Moments that Matter. I think Lori is with Sweetfire or something like that. It is a shame they are not working together anymore but I am sure you cant go wrong with either though. We get married May 3 so I will still be there for your wedding!! We dont leave until the 8th.

Hope everyones planning is going well! Any brides coming up?

Hi fellow brides!  I'm getting at another resort in the area on April 6th, but I'm hoping to find another bride getting married April 4th, 7th, or 8th who still needs a photographer.  I'm planning on bringing Sara Gray but she said that if I can find another wedding for her to shoot while she's in Mexico then she'll give us both a great deal.  (less than the local vendors!)  PM me if you want more details!  http://www.saragrayphotography.com/ She's been featured on some of my favorite blogs...style me pretty, wedding chicks, grey likes weddings, etc.

We are getting married April 1, 2012 and will be honeymooning there until April 9th!

I found a DJ that has done weddings at EMP before that has quoted me at $650, I too have been batteling wether or not to hire a DJ and we have FINALLY decided to go with a DJ and give him a list of all the songs we want played and the ones we DONT want played! Let me know if you are interested in his info!

Happy Planning :)

HI,

$100 for a photgrapher, really?? I just got an email from Gustova saying that there was a $500 fee for an outside photographer.  I was heartbroken :/ Now we are using the resorts photgrapher.  I would double check that price, for yourself so there are no surprises!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
