Hi Ladies,

We have 40 guests now booked at GPJ for our January 2010 wedding. Any particular building recommendations (on the Jamaica side) that I should try to request my guest be booked into?

My fiance and I will be staying in the honeymoon villa..which I believe are all on the Lady side?

Thanks!

CamBride

I was there in June and getting married there in December..I stayed on the jamaican side the first time in building 17..it was nice on the water but it was one of the farther ones..not that i found it all that far myself but i did hear some people complain...building 11 12 13 are close to the main facilities of the resort and you definately want one one the ocean which would be building 11-18 they are all in a row along the ocean....

Hi brides! I noticed a few of you are trying to reach the wedding office at the GP in Jamaica... FYI - the wedding consultant Julian Chang was most likely fired (although they just say that she no longer works there). She was totally unresponsive and rude. I am having my wedding there in a couple of weeks, although I had considered moving it to another location because of the bad service. After being told that there were "email problems" I was contacted by a nice woman named Nina, who is a group event coordinator, and taking over some of the wedding stuff for now. She seems to be swamped, but is thorough in her emails and quick to respond. She is extremely apologetic about Julian's behavior. I think that the wedding coordinator email address is being forwarded to her, but perhaps that's why you aren't getting a response? I'd suggest calling the resort and asking for Nina. After reading past posts from GP, I think that Nina has taken over as wedding coordinator in the past as well, so she is familiar with the wedding packages. Good luck!

Hi everyone,

I can confirm that Julian was let go (it happened while i was there for my wedding last week). Nina is fantastic and now that she is looking after things the service should improve dramatically. I will hopefully have time to write my review by the end of the week but just wanted to post this for those who were having trouble getting a response-I can totally relate b/c i had to deal with Julian until we arrived at the resort to find out she was no longer there. Nina is extremely helpful and I think my wedding would have been a disaster if it wasnt for her and Lori Douglas!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
