Thanks for the reassurance.  I know it will be great!!!  Did you have any trouble booking the tours when you got there?

we had no problem for the most part.  We did the zip-lining, swimming w/ the dolphins, tulum and Chichen Itza.  the woman the the booking desk was very help full, when the zip-lining tour was booked up for the day we wanted she told us to check with her the day off 15 mins before the pick-up time to see if they had any room and they did so we got to do it.  the only complaint was for the tulum and Chichen Itza tour, they really make the tour 1-2 hours longer then needed by stopping at their gift stores on the side of the road, just wait till you get to Chichen Itza to buy souvenirs as the prices at their places are way over price and they are not willing to really deal.  We got some thing at Chichen Itza for $12 that their place wanted $55!

Hi there.

We had 50 guests. I did a buffet set up and felt it was alot easier so that everyone could help themselves to whatever they wanted.

The buffet was beautifully set up. Just gorgeous - they carved flowers out of different vegetables and took such care in the presentation. The food was amazing.

Girls,

Does anyone know hoe much it is to rent empty vases and bring your own flowers in?  Also, is anyone using a DJ other that the one they suggest you use?  If so, what policies did they tell you the DJ had to follow?  Finally, what are you all doing for music at the ceremony?

Tanya,

Dulce is getting a quote for me on tall hurricane vases, but I was told we can't bring in outside flowers.  I don't know how strict they are about that, so you should probably ask her.  As for DJ's...they gave me two options and while we were there for our site visit, one of them was doing a wedding.  His sound system was incredible and they did a really nice set up, so we decided to go with them...J&S Audio Visual.  Our contact, Michell has been great and very responsive.  I can pass along the info if you're interested.

Hi Sam,

Thanks for the info...I must have asked her 5 times already about the flowers, and she just doesnt answer me, but she did quote me $64.00 for "EMPTY" tall vases and $90.00 for center pieces...they are nuts!  I'm going to go to Walmart and but them when I am there.  I will make due with what I find there.   I am curious though to see what she quotes you.

That is who they suggested with me too, but I couldn't find anything about them online so I went with DJ Mannia.

  • 3 weeks later...

I'm planning on doing a test at their spa when I arrive to see how it goes - if it doesn't turn out there is MAC in town so I'll go there and get my make up done and perhaps try out some of the salons in town too....the makeup artists in Mexico are crazy for what they are charging - it's more expensive than at home..there is also Waves Salon and the guy is originally from Canada so I will keep him in mind too

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
