Well, I got into a situation that in the back of my mind I knew was too good to be true. We are having our wedding in Las Vegas and I was searching EBAY one day and found a 8day/7 night hotel stay at the Venetian Hotel and Resort for $250!!! I thought WOW, this was awesome. I read further and it also stated that we would also have to pay the hotel taxes which we thought would be another $300 or so but that was still Great and also have to choose 2 dates 30 days apart!! When we got ready to bid, we saw there was a make an offer option so we offered $200. Well, WE WON IT!

A few days later, we received a voucher in the mail that now said we needed to submit a $35 money order to receive the reservation form. WTF!!! There was no mention of this in the auction information so I emailed the person. He said it was something he had to do for his company, so we mailed the money order and form to get our reservation form. Another week later I received the reservation form and was getting excited. The next morning, I receive an email from paypal and EBAY that they removed this listing because of suspicious activity and suspected fraudulent activity. OK, now I am freaking out! I immediately get on the phone with paypal to dispute the transaction to get my $ back. The rep said that the guy has 10 days to respond to the dispute and if no response, I should have my money back on the 12th day!!!!! Whew!!!

Hopefully everything goes fine and I get my money back. I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER!!!

Thank God you paid via PayPal. Hey, remember the saying... "If it seems too good to be true..."

Having said that, me and my boy just came back from 3 "FREE" nights at the "Pallazzo." (the new, BEAUTIFUL hotel joined to the Venetian) That came about b/c of his previous 'dealings' with the hotel... (accomodation, gambling, etc.) They "offered" him a little get-away and we had a great few days away! (their suites are beautiful!) But we also paid, in kind... We dined, we gambled... be it through drinks, bets, etc., etc. Trust me when I tell you, them make it back...

We're (or at least *I* as the new controlling, Godzilla wife!) is expecting another few "FREE" nights away! LOL

If you think that it's 'too good to be true,' It probably is... enough said

I am so glad you used PayPal to make the payment. It is the only way to protect yourself. I hope you do get all of your money back. A lot of those vacation auctions are scams. They like to nickel and dime you to death.

PayPal is a godsend - but maybe it will work out and you'll get the price offered after all. You never know. Fingers crossed and dusting you with fairy dust for good luck!

If I am purchasing from a shady site or a shady ebay auction, I always use PayPal. They always put their customer first. You will get your money back from them. No worries!
