Hello! So you and your guest are staying at the Melia next door and getting married at the maya palace regency right? That place LOOKS AWESOME!!! WOW!!!! Congratulations :)

 

So i'm all lost with this peso stuff.... how much would a small wedding of ~ 30 ppl cost at the mayan? Any ideashuh.gif and I would want it to look like the one in those pics!!! hehe

FYI I found out from Marco that those extras are usually included with a group of 60+ ppl.

FYI after hearing such great things about Prisar Vallarta (WC) I wrote them and I wanted to share with y'all what Priscilla told me in regards to Marco:

 

"Is very important you know the importance of hiring a wedding planner, because even though Marco is an excellent person, he is not as detailed as wedding coordinators are, for tell you an example we always take care that linens are long enough, the setting, etc, and is a linen is in not good condition we ask them to change it, may II explain? We are your eyes since the planning to the end of the event. There are a lot of advantages of hiring a WC. And also if you hire all suppliers through Mayan Palace you will pay a lot more because they earn a profit of each thing. With us, we negotiate with suppliers the best prices for you, we don not increase any supplier price."

 

Kind of bummed but glad to know this info beforehand! We are now looking into getting an outside WC (another 2k, ouch!).

I got to let you know that Priscilla is all about keeping her job which I totally understand. Everything is all about making money. I got the nastiest email from her on another website because I told everyone that I didn't want to hire a wedding planner because I felt I could do it on my own...plus my budget isn't as big. I understand why others have planners. She wrote the most unprofessional email I have ever heard...I don't know how she got my email and why she felt to write it. Beware...don't believe everything you hear. Sorry...I am still a little upset that she sent me that email because I felt like this forum and the other forum I was on was for brides only and NOT VENDORS.

I understand that she could be trying to drum up business. Sorry you had such a bad experience with her! Honestly tho if I am going to be hiring somebody I want them to sell themselves to me. She did a pretty good job of that. Plus other people seem to be having or have had good experiences with her.

I would really like to see a wedding that Marco has done on his own. I'm assuming you're using him alone as your WC? Can't wait to see your pictures!

I felt the same, I actually emailed him last night and asked him to send me pics of weddings he has not done. I need a comparison. I dont think I'm getting Prisar, I really think I can use the 2K and use it elsewhere. I think your buying "peace of mind" for hiring an outside WC, however, I look back at weddings I've attended locally and NONE have used outside WC so I figure we don't really need it.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

      Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
