I agree with AmyH...this place is NOT that expensive. Ladies, i would highly recommend using a wedding coordinator for this place because she was able to negotiate corkage fees and a reduced location fee. A lot of the lounge furniture you see in the pics are already on site and don't require further rentals!

We're getting married here February 23, 2008...SO EXCITED!

I need more info. Amy how many guests are you estimating? And when is the weather the best in PV? The only reason why I loved cabo so much is b/c the weather seems much safer. When is the good season for PV and when is the bad season? I really love this place! I'm so excited that you put a deposit down. smile159.gif

Thanks Glenda! Hmm.. i'm not sure when the best time for PV is, but I know July is not it, haha! I know that its super hot and the rainy season begins around the end of June. But I from what I've been told, the heavier rain season is towards the end of the summer in August. Oh well, I'll be hot and sweaty, but I just hope it doesn't rain cause I haven't even bothered to ask about a back up plan!

I'll email you the proposal with prices. We are estimating at 150 ppl.

But here's what's included:

LOCATION: Sunset Bar for the reception, Jetty for the ceremony and Beach for the private banquet and dancing

SET UP: For the ceremony at the jetty: Table at front for the preacher, all linen, white runner for the aisle, Italian chairs, wedding type music and microphone, rustic palm carpets in all walking areas, candles and torches.

For the banquet, round tables for 10 people each, all linen, china, Italian chairs, lighting, dancing floor, stage for band/dj, candles and torches.

BANQUET:WEDDING PLAN No. 3, (150 people included)

·On site coordinator

·Complete set up for the banquet areas, described above

·Three courses dinner menu (Selection pending)

·Corking fee, six hours (we asked for 7, and he is not charging extra, this all mixers, soda, water, ice all we need to provide is the liquor.)

·Fire works (10 large bombs and one hundred thunder lights)

·Exclusive waiters

·One bridal suite for one night with late check out at 6:00 PM

·Tasting menu for two persons

·½ Hour Massage for bride and groom

·Fruit basquet upon arrival (Only for the bride and groom room)

·VIP Treatment during stay

He's also throwing in a Symbolic Cake (picture op), which I'm fine with since the dinner includes desert.

We also found that my cousin's husband is good friends with the ppl who make the Tres Gerenaciones Tequila! We are looking into getting bottles with our own labels for the tables/favors.. and purchsing the tequila by the jugs for consumption! shots.gif

I am glad that everyone is thinking about Mayan...it was all because of Christine...she is the one that recommended the Mayan to me. Also...thank Amy M. for telling me to post my information on this site to share with you all. I know it is a little confusing two Amy's...but if you have any more questions that Amy M. can't answer let me know.

YOu'll all love the Mayan...it is super trendy, beautiful, and has a fun Mayan influence...they just remodeled a couple years agon...so the pictures on their hotel site really don't do it justice. I am glad that my pictures and the WC have shown how breathtaking it really is.

The Mayan is really affordable...the prices are about the same as Dreams and Westin.

Email Marco...the WC at Mayan if you had anymore questions...aybpvr@mayanpalace.com.mx

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
