My resort closing...who cares, I'm married now! Legal day today! *Pics*

Recommended Posts

Well, I'm officially a married lady gals! We had our legal day today. It was perfect because I married my best friend, but with all of the drama with Dreams Tulum, why did I even think this day would go over smooth?

First of all, I went in to work today because I have so much to do and I don't really have lots of extra vacay hours since I will be gone for two weeks for wedding. Of course, the last hour I was there I got super busy and didn't get out when I wanted. I had the info of the judge, the phone # and where I was supposed to go at my desk at work...what do I do?...leave it at work of course. There was no time to go back to get it. I started calling court house trying to find phone #'s of judges so I could call around to find the judge that was marrying us! I called about 5 people before I finally found our judge. So we get there and are about to go in when Jason realized he forgot to get cash to pay for it, cause they only except cash. Another thing! I was trying not to get upset, but I couldn't help it. All the stuff with the resort closing, I was on edge. So Jason ran to get cash, came back and we finally got married! It was so short, but sweet! I'm so excited, but I didn't want to make a huge deal since we are not even counting this day at all. My parents were there with us. My mom brought us cupcakes and then we went out for a casual dinner. My mom took lots of pics but I didn't get them from her before she left. My dad took a few with our camera, so I apologize they aren't that great.

We are just chilling now with our wine. I'm so happy!!

So, are you going to have two anniversaries now?? Woohoo...double presents!! LOL

I won't technically have two anniversaries cause we are just counting our Mexico day as our day, but next year I'm sure I will make him feel guilty about our legal day just to get two presents!!! haha

    • I have stayed at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Dominicus.  The two resorts are very different in style and decor. A few comparison points are below and fact sheets are attached for both.   Both resorts are approx 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport, close proximity to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon. Top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links and La Estancia – all designed by world-famous Pete Dye. Restaurants are similar at both resorts.  Both offer the Explorers Club for Kids.  Dreams Dominicus  Brand new resort and in 2016 488 rooms (however additional construction was underway) More contemporary style & decor Good beach area Rooms were very nice Preferred Club located in main lobby and adjacent to main pool & beach front Food was good Center plaza area with nighttime entertainment Main lobby is small, but outdoor bar off lobby is nice Dreams La Romana Originally built in 2003 & opened as Dreams La Romana in 2008 756 rooms Recently renovated and new preferred club adults only lounge & pool added  Rooms are more traditional Caribbean decor Grounds are very lush and tropical Good beach area food was good    Dreams Dominicus fact sheet.pdf Dreams La Romana fact sheet.pdf
    • My sister has done it but with the destination wedding, only super close family members and friends came since it was expensive and farther. It was great though.
