Congratulations!!!!! So excited for you! So funny we were just talking about this and he does it! Cant beleive it! You must be SOOO happy now! Oh I am so happy for you....I wish I could have seen your face when he did it!
I think Im gonna try looking at wedding books now....lol....just kidding!
Thats such great news Yencie!!!

Now like you said, you can officially start planning again without getting the rolling of the eyes. Oh how exciting! I cant wait for you to go on your site visit and hopefully nail down a date. That will lift a huge weight off your shoulders. Especially being able to do that while your down there and not worry about it via emails like the rest of us. You will have to take a lot of pictures so we can see where it will be.

Ya the more I think about it, the more comfotable I am with the thought of getting married here first and not telling anyone and then doing the symbolic ceremony there. I dont think anyone will know the difference. Plus that way we wont be nervous of the day of the beach ceremony. Might remember more of it that way. I know my last wedding was a total blur for most of the time...lol...probably better that way now anyways...lol

So what does the ring look like? You have to upload a pic to photobucket and get it on here!!!! I want to see the beauty! Did you phone everyone right awayhuh.gif I bet you were on the phone for hours! lol

THats sucha cute way of doing it. I told Riley I didnt want anything fancy or something which involved a lot of people. Just me and him,...even if he asked me in bed on a sunday morning...lol....I dont care so long as its heartfelt and genuine and romantic. I dont need the weekend away or fancy dinner. Just me and him. So I love that your now FIANCE (dont you just love the sound of that when it refers to your man...lol) did it that way. Its really cute and unique. Plus it TOTALLY caught you off guard and thats the way it should be. You didnt have a chance to figure it out. So great!!!!

Keep me posted on EVERYTHING!!!!!

Congrats from Riley and I!!!!bunny_4.gif
Thanks Jenny! Yeah he totally caught me off guard!!!It's funny because I think he thought once he proposed he would be off the hook at least until we leave to cancun in a couple of weeks but nope! Not me! lmao!!!Now I've been talking even more about it! My parents feel so sorry for poor Anthony! lmao....Oh well...I think he's just as excited now though too....(I think he likes to be referred to as FIANCE...LOL)

I definetly want to do the legal wedding here...I'm scared my parents will find out though because they are just that nosy and will probably ask me what paperwork and stuff I would need to get married in cancun...Oh well worse case, I'll just have to tell them...lol

I can't wait for you to get engageeddddd!!!!!Hopefully Riley gets inspired now...lol...It's hilarious how we were talking about it and then BAM! he proposes! His ears must have been burning and he must have heard us..lol...I have to figure out how to upload the ring but if you go under Diamond Jewelry, Wedding Band, Engagement Ring, Stud Earring and type 497 in the search you'll be able to see the ring without the center stone. The center stone is a princess cut. It sucks because pictures don't really do it justice...It's a really pretty ring....

Ok so one down one more to go Jenny! I'm rooting for you!!!!lol

First: **CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR PROPOSAL YENCIE!!**

Second: Am I SOOO HAPPY I found this thread becuz I thought I was the only one planning for a wedding that hasnâ€t been made official with a proposal yet. I will be a 2011 bride and like some of you, I also am waiting on a ring/proposal. My soon to be FI went and picked out rings the first week of October, which was also my birthday week. Getting married is all HE talks about but we are waiting for his divorce from his 1st marriage to be final before we go any further. But in the meantime, I have been planning away!! This will be my 1st marriage so I am crazy excited!! Since he has done the whole traditional wedding at home with hundreds of guest, he has left the ideas for our wedding up to me since itâ€s my 1st time. By the time he proposes, I will probably be done planning!! This board is God sent!!!

Reading you alls post has made me feel so much better!! THANKS LADIES!!

Congratulations Yencie! :)

Another ring less bride here. cheesy.gifAt first he was suppose to go pick out a ring by himself to surprise me with how it looks, but now my mom has offered us to give us my grandma's engagement ring, which I remember loving last time I saw it 4 years ago (I've actually been wearing the wedding band on my right index since that time. I'll give it back to my mom so she can wear it and buy matching wedding bands with my hubby-to-be instead). Though I'm thrilled about getting the ring for sentimental reasons (and because it looks gorgeous too:)), I kinda wish my mom had done that in secret with my FI behind my back instead of telling ME about it. rolleyes.gif

We plan on marry in the spring of 2011, in Varadero Cuba. My FI is almost as much into the planning as me, always talking about it and often looking online for more info/reviews for the resorts we are thinking of (mostly the Iberostars Varadero and Laguna Azul).

Another member to our club! Welcome, RonNMel! See at least you're lucky and your future FI is into wedding stuff. I think that's the reason mine is waiting so long, he is SO not into anything wedding related and if he had a choice it would be just going to the court house by ourselves and getting it over with. sad.gif

I think that's awesome you're getting your grandma's ring though. Hopefully you'll get it soon! Let us know when it happens.

I don't know how it works for people living in the states, but I know for us in Canada Cuba is often the cheapest of all the Carribean/Mexican destinations, with possibly one of the best looking beach. The accommodations are not always as good as other richer countries, and the food can be bland, but to me it's still paradise, only more affordable.

I'll be sure to tell you guys once I get the actual proposal and ring. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
