I love, love, love my invites. However, they were a waste of money, because the people that are actually coming had already booked their trips and barely any of the people I sent invites to have sent back their reply cards - which Im taking very personally and I know I shouldnt.

I am having this debate with my FI, he does not and I want to send he invites, but fo me it is a "my wedding" thing. It just does not feel like the real thing with out it. Everything goes hand in hand you know. I am still thinking about it. I guaranteed him that if I could DIY I would be able to save us on cost and still get what i want.

I'm so glad I found this thread! I thought I was the only one who didn't want to send invites for a DW. I'm torn, really, FI doesn't want to do it because obviously we know who is coming already and he thinks it is a waste of time. I do agree, and I am a bit concerned about wasting all that paper! I sent out an email to most people we know, but there are some people that didn't get the email, or don't have email addresses (i.e. FI's grandparents), or I don't have their email address...I would mostly be doing it for FI's family who is pretty traditional and for people who didn't get the email but I want them to feel included. ARGH!! I have no idea what to do. I keep going back and forth between sending them and not sending them!

I will be sending out save the date announcements with the wedding date and resort. I will include my wedding website address so that people can get additional info. FI also thinks it's a waste of paper because almost everyone knows about already. I think it is necessary and will make it official.

I am also stuck with this a little.

We are sending out STD boarding passes and magnets (DIY) once we have confirmed with the hotel our date, but before we can book our accommodation through the TA. This will mean the date and time is 100% confirmed, and also gives people a date to have their deposits by to book their accommodation and flights.

The bit I am stuck at is the invites...we are going to send them out nearer the time of the wedding, so by this point, it really would be too late for people to change their minds about going (as everyone is coming from the UK). We are getting message in the bottle invites - not DIY - so they cost a small fortune - I don't know whether to just send them to the people who have confirmed - or to send to everyone we have invited? Personally, we are only inviting family, and feel it would be a bit rude to not give some people invites just because they can't afford to come to our wedding....but on the other hand...I can't help but think there is no point giving them one!lol

But i take on board a point made earlier, people do like to keep invites as keep sakes, so it would mean the people who can't make it to Mexico at least have that!

We sent our save the dates in February. Our STDs were formal, invite type ones so I didn't feel the need to send out a second batch of virtually the same thing and call them invites. We also asked ppl to let us know if they were/had booked outside of our group package (which worked out fine).

We had 90% book directly with the TA within 6 months.

I did the DIY Boarding Pass invites and was so excited to send tem out - and the response was great from those able to attend an not attending alike. Everyone loved getting the DW invites in the mail.

So, I wouldn't change a thing - but it's really just all a personal preference!

We sent STD's which most people booked from the info on those. But, I ended up going with a formal...invitation looking brochure to send to only those who are maybe's or yes's. This accomplishes the goal of getting tons of info about the cruise, wedding, activites, weather out to those who are coming and also has TA info and a "invitation wording" section for those who are maybe's. I'm really happy with them =)

We are actually paying for our guests accommodations so we are sending STD's and formal invites only to the people we have already spoken with and found out if they are a yes. For everyone else, we will send a more casual invite for our AHR. (Is evite too tacky for that?)

Thx,

    • Hi everyone, I am so happy that I am getting married to the love of my life. He proposed me and we are getting married within in a couple of months. And I have started preparations for my big day. I am super excited about a lot of things and also worried about many things.I have some inhibitions about my face and skin. Since I am a working woman, I have never got much time for personal care. This is the right time for it now. I need  proper medical grade skin care. Want to improve my skin tone and texture  I read some details about it here, https://www.mcleanclinic.com/nonsurgical-procedures/non-surgical/skin-care/, and found it really helpful. Can anyone of you suggest me some more tips? Like what I can do at home to have a glow on my face?  Thanks in advance.
    • I think you should approach the dentist. That would be the best idea as of now.
    • I think that would be a great idea. I have tried it once and loved it.!
    • That's really sweet. I am sure she would love that.!!
