*Started talking to a the designer about customizing mine and my BM's hair flowers; they will look something like this .. with the white goose feather base with accent feathers in blue mainly, gold and brown. Mine will be a bit smaller than the pic and mostly with blue accents and the BM's will be even smaller with more of the gold and brown with the blue:

*Picked out the BM Dresses (the VS convertible dress):

I think that's everything. Let's all check back in ladies. I can't believe it's coming this soon. Now, I just have to figure out how I am going to afford everything when it comes time to pay.!!

Hi ladies!

I just joined the site and came across this thread! I too am an August 2009 bride! We still do not know the date just yet. We were planning on doing the traditional church wedding and reception in 2010 and JUST changed our minds! I think a DW will be so much better but now I am stressing out since I have so little time! I just looked through all of your posts and I feel a little stressed. I don't know if I will be able to get everything done. We are going to St. Lucia and I plan on just doing everything through the resort. I really just want something low key. Here is what I have done so far:

1. Got a travel agent- working with TA Jennifer now to set date and book rooms & flights

2. Got the dress!!! I bought it for the church wedding but luckily it will still work!

Sadly, that is about it! I may need a ton of help from you all! I am not big into weddings so I am pretty lost here. I do have a major question to ask; since we are so close do I still need to do STDs or just do inviteshuh.gif I know what invitations I want to use and I am just waiting on finalizing the date before I order them. Any thoughtshuh.gif?

PLEASE HELP!

Don't worry, that is the great thing about destination weddings, they do a lot for you! I wouldn't bother sending out save the dates at this point, save the money and get invitations. That is one thing to check off your list. A lot of things destination brides do are optional like OOT bags. I really hadn't done much before last month, now I feel like since it is almost 6 months away that I need to get things done but there is still plenty of time left, and friends here to help!

OH hun don' worry! If you are doing your wedding w/ a resort and using their package you will be fine! We don't care much for resorts, we are staying in a villa and planning everything from scratch which is ALOT more work. I have to agree, just skip STD and do invites. Really everything comes down to number of guests. Once you find that out, then any extras you want to do you can.

Thanks Desiree!! I love my dress; I just need to keep losing the pounds. As you can see, there is no room for extra weight in that dress and I can't wear spanx under it! And.. OOT Bags, its going to be a slow process. We just keep picking up stuff that I find out about on here or see on sale.

MeRocket -Thanks!!! The invites actually came in the other day. We are sending them out this week. I was so shocked when I found them as I was having a hard time locating something in my colors that was niec.

JWeldon - Welcome!! And, don't stress. Granted, my wedding is going to be super simple; but the resort DOES pretty much take care of the details. If I were you, I would skip the STD's and go straight to invites; but I would do it soon to allow people enough time to save $$ etc...

How is everyone else doing?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
