I recently went to a wedding where they had cupcakes instead of a cake - and it was absolutely wonderful. Great idea!

I think its a great idea, no one ever eats the cake, but who can say no to a fancy cupcake !

Happily married and now Mrs. West

I think that's an awesome idea but cupcakes make such a nice decoration I'd want to display them! I like the idea of a cupcake tower where they're on display and you can still do the cake cutting ceremony but just leave the boxes off to the side so if guest choose not to eat it straight away they can take them back to their room.

Love cupcakes, but my resort wants to charge $80-100 for the cake top (needed), and like 7-10 dollars each cupcake!

Has anyone considered cake balls? I loveeeee them, and they have some staying power in the fridge.

This is such a great idea! I never thought about looking for a bakery in the resort area.... is it much cheaper than getting cake from the resort?

LMAO! Gold Nuggets would be awesome!!!   I would love to do cupcakes instead of a cake, but I am sure there will be an "added cost" at my resort, too.  I will keep it mind when we start to discuss cake/menu, etc.
