Hello brides to be! I have also been looking for this thread for a while now, I guess I still dont completely understand how this forum works but I am learning. My FI and I are getting married at the CasaMagna Marriott in Cancun and we are very excited. I am a little nervous (now even more after reading how far everyone else is in planning for the big day)

I really have a question for anyone out there that is getting married in Mexico and understands how we can get legally married and have a religious ceremony at the same time. Our pastor is going to come down to marry us but I am wondering if we need to have a justice of the peace or someone in Mexico to also be a part of our ceremony to make it legal. Does anyone have an answer to this?

Besides that, I am really going to get down to business and start looking for all of those details that normal brides had done 10 months ago. :)

Wish me luck and I will keep you posted.

Welcome, almost-date-twin! haha wink.gif Don't feel bad about stuff you should/would have been doing 10 months ago, I'm having my wedding six months to the day since my FI asked me lol. We've been together 8 years but it was either going to be in six months or 1.5 years from now. I'd rather sooner than later so now I'm trying to get everything organized as best and quickly as possible. I'm here for ya!! :)

hmmm...I'm not sure on this, since we're getting legally married here before we go. Can you ask your WC?? I know if we wanted to do a legal marriage at our resort, they would have helped with the paperwork and everything, but I don't think we needed a diff minister....good luck!

I am right along with you Heather we still have a lot of stuff to do for the OOT bags and ceremony but we really have to wait to find out how many people are coming in order to do that so I imagine in Jan and Feb we will be so busy.

We are getting our pashminas in NYC once we know how many ladies are coming. If you search on this forum a lot of girls have ordered them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
