I was originally going to get the Ultimate Wedding Package, but preferred the Silver Menu as well and when I asked Natalia about it she said they would not allow substitutions and I could not get the Silver Menu with that package. I am not sure what Jacy will say, but that was what Natalia told me.

Reluctant Beach Bride-

The photographer that I am using is Lidya Solemidt. Here is her website.

The way I presented it to Jacy was that I had already booked her. I also said that I would be happy to pay the fee for a day pass. She was nice about it but said she would make an exception. I will know more after my wedding on 2-28.

Also have most of you booked your wedding through your travel agent? My travel agent is encouraging me to do this....and it makes me a bit nervous.

Thats fine if they dont want to give me the Silver menu, but there is no way I am going to have sea food at my wedding. I don't eat it. They can create a new menu for me. I'm not going to bother asking about this til my date is closer.

My TA (if you can call them that... I'm using Dream Days) offered to book the wedding package. I think they would have wanted us to pay upfront. If you just do it through the resort then they might make up pay that deposit, but you pay the rest at the resort... so since I'm broke, that works better for me :)

I considered Lidya, but I went with Martha Roque instead. It was a hard choice!

Ok, it is Lidya that I have been talking to so it must have been your wedding she was refering to when she said she was already booked there for February. I am going to try and see what happens. Thanks!!!

Bianca - I agree about how they just flat out say no. I am right there with you with the seafood thing, I hate it. I don't know what I am going to do yet, I just don't want to pick one entree and expect everyone to be okay with my choice. I want the "private" reception but right now my guest list is much small than I anticipated so I may ask about the whole "$20" charge for the regular menu at one of the restaurants. I still say it stinks that they are charging for stuff like that at an AI but its not worth arguing over.

Yay!! Finally got my niece's STD luggage tags yesterday. She did them herself and didn't realize how much work was involved with a DIY project. I think she's re-thinking doing her invites herself now.

Anyway, she had told all of us not to make our reservations until the STD's went out. My airfares from Newark haven't gone up in the past couple months, but they have gone up quite a bit from Phoenix, which is where the majority of the guests are coming from.

It's June 12, 2009 and it's now official for Erika & Blake!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
