This is it...

Sooo... I am so sad that I have been absent this last month because I ended my engagement (and subsequent marriage) over three weeks ago. So I have been busy with dismantling a wedding and household.

I'm going to be completely honest... I had been having feelings throughout our whole engagement that we were not right for each other. Since we had been engaged I kept seeing couples that were so happy, and would do little things for each other, things I never had in my relationship and really wanted. I had resigned myself to the fact that I would never have that in my life. I couldn't do it. It wasn't right. He said it wasn't right too.

So, this is a VERY good thing. I am so happy that we found out now, rather than ten years from now (probably with children).

But... I have a load of stuff to sell. I was only 5 weeks away from my wedding, so I basically have everything. I've been trying to sort through all the wedding stuff for you girls (I've got a lot of good stuff- including a ton of OOT bag goodies) but I've been too consumed with cancelling the wedding, taking apart my household, trying to work, etc. that I have not gotten to it. BUT.. I promise that by next week (as long as I can learn how to use paypal) I will be posting goodies for sale. Lots of them!

So, wish me luck, and I hope somebody wants the stuff I have. I don't want it anymore.

XOXO

Rachel, I am so sorry you are going through all this. It sounds like it was for the best but that never makes it any easier. Let me know if there is anything I can help you with. Seriously, anything. I can even post things for you if you need me to.

Sounds like you are in an amazing and positive frame of mind. If it wasn't right, it is definetly better (and believe it or not easier) to lay it to rest now than after you are married and if children are involved. Keep staying strong and I know that there are brides on here that would gladly buy your stuff off you, myself included. Good luck!

Rachel,

Wow - I am so sorry you are going through this but it sounds like this is the best decision for both of you. I am so proud of you for having the courage to follow through with your gut feelings and not just go along with the engagement / wedding / planning b/c it was easier.

You will have the man of your dreams b/c you are in touch with who you are as a person. All of the lessons learned from this experience are going to help guide you in the direction of true happiness and what is coming next.

Stay strong and I hope you stick around with us and keep us updated on how you are doing!

Rachel,

I am so sorry to hear you are going through this. I can only imagine how devastating this must be.

But you are right. It's so much better figuring this out before you go through with the wedding an dpossibly children later.

And it also leaves open the fact that you're The One is out there. You just haven't met him yet. Or have you? :)

Sending you lots of hugs through this time. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
