I just don't see what difference it makes if you're paying a flat rate.
Yep, that was my argument to her too and she eventually let us have it after a few phonecalls and emails (and then we changed our minds) But your definetly thinking the right way!!!

I just recieved a reply email from Gabriela and thought it was some useful information I could share for anyone having a civil legal ceremony at the DEL MAR...

For the legal civil ceremony's performed by a judge it will be in english not spanish anymore (so no-one will be translating). And you can write your own vows or repeat after the judges. You can have a unity candle and music playing and you can have people do readings (as long as you keep them short). The ceremony is usually 20 minutes.

Just thought it was some useful stuff to know since the wedding package document says you can't do any of this for the civil legal ceremony! They changed there rules!!!

Regarding your question, the charge its 800USD per the rent of the Tropical rest as a private event, it's an outside rest and we rent it for groups larger than 35 people, in case that you have a smaller group, you can pay for the remaining 18USD and still have it.

The charge included the open bar 4 hours, the special set up (table clothes, ribbons and chair covers) and the service as a private event during the dinner.
Gabriela told me the same thing about a 35 person minimum and pay $18 for the missing people. So, I may not have 35 people but I'm sure if we just paid as if they were there, it wouldn't be a problem. I'm not going to worry about it.

I'm getting nervous that I have so much to do but don't really know what. I sent the WCs my 'last details' sheet and spa reservations, but I'm so scared that things won't work out like they are supposed to.

Our ceremony is at 4 on the beach. Coctail hour 5-6 at Las Olas bar (not private) near Lindo pool. Then, dinner at the Stakehouse in the Maya. I'm wondering if there is a better place to hold the coctail hour that will be closer to the Stakehouse in the Maya. Any suggestions? Also, will they come pick guests up with the trams to get there?

Does anyone know with the 'blessing' ceremony- can I tweak the ceremony wording at the Lindo? They said they would put me in touch with the officiant but I have yet to hear from them. YIKES!

Any advice is appreciated!!!
Hey Carollyn,

I'm not sure about the cocktail hour, but I know that Michelle told us previously that you can tweak the ceremony. We discussed it early on in this thread if you want to look for it.

I was told that they'd put me in touch with the officiant as well, but have yet to hear.

I'm leaving Mexico on the 13th (wedding on the 9th). I can't believe how fast time as flown!!
