Hi everyone,

 

My name is Melanie and I am new to this forum. My FH and I have decided to get married in Jamaica in Nov. of 2009. We met with our TA yesterday and are torn between ROR or Riu Negril. I've read ALOT of posts about the both and they both look great. We have a group of about 20 going and when we come back we plan on having a big reception so everyone who couldn't come can celebrate with us. I'm trying not to go overboard down in Jamaica as far as cost because the reception alone is costing us about $6000. I will be in my last semester of college, with a baby, and only my FH working so we arn't exactly rollin in the dough so to speak. Any suggestions, comments, concerns would be greatly appriciated.

Welcome to the forum!

 

I can't speak for the RIU, but I just went with the free package and I had a beautiful wedding.

 

I did my own silk flowers and paid a minimal amount to decorate the ceremony site ($250 for fresh flowers and an aisle runner.)

 

I think you can easily stay within your budget if you try. There is still plenty of time and you can shop around to find the best deals.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
