Yup, thats why eloping is sounding more appealing Alyssa! haha I'm not one for drama! haha
I'm glad your bro plans on being there even if she isn't. That's awesome. My bro's was girlfriend now wife became pregnant right after we got engaged, and for the first 2 months she wasn't going to attend my wedding or let my bro come. But things have since changed, they are both coming and leaving the baby home. Maybe your sil will come around too.

The reason I am waiting until next year is because they got married this year and I wanted my family to have the chance to save some money after the expense of their wedding. My brother doesn't seem thrilled to go the week I am planning it...even through I have to do it that week because of their jobs and also mentioned that his wife may be pregnant by then...because they are waiting till that fall (2009) to try. So now my family is asking me why I am not planning the wedding (I am looking at Jamaica) in July 2009 instead. I am really annoyed by this request and don't feel like people should be asking me to change my wedding plans especially since I am already trying to plan around some of their schedules. I am looking forward to getting away from this Northern Ontario winter weather to go somewhere hot. Not to mention that if I didn't have to plan around them I would have preferred to have my wedding in January or February instead.

Sorry this is so long...I just know how you feel!! I am here for support if you need it!!

Oh no you go for it girl!! haha i know what you are going through so i totally know what you mean!! She is a teacher and it crossed my mind to accommodate, but then said too bad...you wanna play this game, maybe I don't want you there then!!!

TOO FUNNY!!

My brother's GF,(now wife) said ths same thing!!!

I would understand if she was about to have the baby but I mean come on!!! My parents found out she said this and were NOT to pleased. Not to mention my brother plans on waiting to have kids.....

Oh and another thing, I was one of her Bridesmaid organized her Bachelorette -spent about 300$ (she had a MOH that was from out of town and USELESS), paid for my own hair (90$), dress (200$) and countless other things...

Ok, she wants kids, that is great, but if I was there so should she!

Sounds like somebody is soooo jealous of your exotic location!!!!!

I would smile sweetly and ignore her that will freak her more than reacting to her bitchy comments. don't let her spoil the joy and excitement of planning your big day

This sounds just like my sister-in-law!! When we got engaged she didn't seem happy for us at all. When we told her that we were having a DW, she was just like, "I don't understand why you need to spend that much money on a wedding." Last time I checked, we are saving a whole lot of money by having a DW. She was going to start trying to get pregnant, but luckily, she has never been to Hawaii and she doesn't want to be pregnant when she goes...I guess I should be thankful for her kindness in waiting.

After reading others' posts on this subject, it seems like this is common. Why are there so many jealous sister-in-laws out there??

I can only speak for mine but its because they are arses who don't want attention on anyone else!

One of his sisters we asked and she said no sorry i can't come because i don't want all the attention on me!! (she has cancer) I'm sorry but my family couldn't give a shite about her, they don't know her, so why would the attention be on her exactly!! lol She's ok otherwise tho never hear from her its great lol

The other one ISNT invited because she is a lush, a troublemaker and FI just realised he doesnt like her lmao Its too long a story to go into all the things she does lmao

Oh, Laren, that stinks! I never understand why people think it's okay to dampen someone else's happiness. sad.gif It's almost like she's looking for a way to avoid traveling so far in advance. Shame on her!!!

I'm not sure how close you are with your bro, but I'd tease mine and ask him to promise me NOT to have any before my wedding so that I'd be sure her was there! (insert laughter here for the sarcasm!)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
