Wedding Coordinators recomendations

Recommended Posts

Amy @ FLC has been great! Sometimes they have email glitches. I had the same thing happen where I emailed that general info address and didn't get a response for weeks. I got a response right away when I emailed one more time. And since then, we've talked on the phone several times. Just recently she sent an email to me which I didn't get so she followed up by calling to ask if I got it. I didn't receive it, so I was glad she did call.

I'm also paying $3000 for her but I feel it's well worth it. We go out to visit in October, and she's going to set up the tastings, meeting with florist and set up a visit at the reception site (we're renting a villa near the Sheraton) and driving us around. I personally like not having to contact vendors and negotiate. I really believe she's doing the best to meet my budget because she knows all the vendors, their costs and the quality of their work. I've just collected images of what I'd like to see at my wedding and sent them to Amy to help me achieve what I want. She'll be there for the rehearsal and wedding day, coordinating the ceremony and reception set up, so again, I feel like the extra money is worth the peace of mind.

Another thing is, since she's American, I never feel like things are lost in translation. I'm always confident that what I've communicated is fully understood. Hope that helps!

I think I'm going to use Amy as well. I sent her an email and she replied back within a couple days AND called me to follow up.

Which villa are you renting? I think I'm going to get Casa Sueno on Amy's suggestion.

We're renting Villa Cortez for the week and having the reception there after the ceremony on the beach at the Sheraton. It's walking distance and has enough space to accommodate our party, which we're hoping will be around 80 guests.

Do you have a link to Villa Cortez? I'd love to see it!

I thought the pictures of Sueno looked charming but then today I found some more photos on tripadvisor that made the place look like a dump! eek!

Reassure me: is Sueno nice?

We too debated between a wedding in KC or Cabo. We chose Casa Del mar resort to hold our wedding at so that it would feel more intimate. The resort does have an on site coordinator but I have done most of the planning on my own through the recommendations on this site. I did contact Gaby at Baja weddings and she was very eager to start the planning process. I will be hiring a off site coordinator for the day of but will be discussing that with the on site wc so that I know who she works well with. Hope that this helps and if you have any questions on KC sites please let me know. We spent a few weeks gathering information on everything here.

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
