yay Dana!! :) So excitinf! I am soooo jealous you leave so soon. We leave in 7 weeks and 6 days and that just feels too long. I am starting to worry about all the little stuff now. Like should i book a hair appointment at the salon or should i just have my sister do it for me. She has never got training but is good with hair. She did my hair at my sister's wedding in Jamaica. This is what it looked like:DSCN0901.JPG<a

I plan to do something like thiswedding hair 4.jpg  so it should be be fairly easy for her to do

oh yea... for all you already married ladies-

Did you bring your own script for the wedding??  That is the next thing I am thinking about. Also, if you did, how did the officiant due with reading (ie was his english okay?)

So I am starting today with my eating healthy and working out more regime!! My goal is to lose 10 lbs in the next 8 weeks before the wedding. I am doing a body cleanse through herbalife to start this out ( my mom has done this and lost 4 lbs, pretty much of just water weight so has gained it back but i hope to use it as my starting point and keep it off!). So wish my luck. Pretty much have to drink 2 gallons of fluid today, which doesn't seem like a lot but i guess it is!

Thanks girls!

Jen-Can your sister do a trial on your hair before you leave and see if you like it? I'm def getting mine done, I hope it turns out okay. I know if you take the picture of exactly what you want they are really good at replicating it. Your sister did a great job before though!

So I have a small rant! I have a friend that I have been friends with for about 15 years, she is very selfish person. Her and her husband live in Ohio and have no children b/c she doesn't want to get fat and they make really good money. When she got married 3 years ago she asked me to be in the wedding and then took it back b/c she had decided on no wedding party...no big deal b/c it saved me loads of money. She didn't have anyone to plan her bachelorette party so I did it. I spent loads of time and money planning it and it was a great night for everyone. That's the background so anyway, she came on to visit NJ at the end of July. My shower (a surprise) was in August and she didn't come. I got not explanation for 3 weeks and then she emailed me to tell me she had jsut been home and didn't want to come home again and it would have been expensive. I was pissed for a few weeks, but I realize she is selfish so I got over it. Well, I decided to do my bachelorette party in Mexico b/c most of my good friends don't live in NJ and figured it would be easier to have it in Mexico since most are going. So my sister calls me last night to say she may have to cancel it b/c of numbers. She precedes to tell me this friend sent a long email saying that she is spending a lot of money to come to the wedding and she wants to get the most out of her "all-inclusive." She said that she is sure that everyone else feels this way too so she doesn't want to go. Keep in mind my sister already has 13 people committed to going and they are all so excited (we are doing a catamaran ride for only 3 or 4 hours). My sister won't let me see the email b/c I guess it was that bad! I am so hurt that I planned her WHOLE party but she can't even show up for mine! Oh and to top it off she hasn't called me since before my shower in August and calls me last week b/c she said she had a dream about me that I hated her guts and wanted to make sure it wasn't true. At the time I didn't know about this whole thing, but can we say guilty conscience. Sigh, okay that was a long rant I guess, but I'm trying not to tell her off so I had to tell someone.

I did write a script and the wedding coordinator advised against using it because of the English...and THANK GOD I didn't have him read it. It would have been a train wreck! The guy that did our wedding said beautiful things and it was such a wonderful ceremony! I would recommend letting the officiant do their thing because you run the risk of very broken English and having difficulty even understanding what he is saying. I know it sort of sucks, but ours actually turned out really great. I had a reading and a sand ceremony planned in there and just 2 of my bridesmaids read them.

Dana- I would totally call her out. It doesn't have to be done in a mean way but there is nothing wrong with asking her to justify her decision TO YOU and gently reminding her of all you did for her. People so quickly forget the nice things you do........just a thought.

Thanks! That is good to know, because I was starting to look through the ceremony script thread and trying to put stuff together. And I was just going to have the officiant read the sand ceremony script but now I know to have one of our party members or guest read it

As of last night I am legally a Mrs. We had a small, private ceremony at the courthouse and our family friend that is a judge performed the ceremony. It was nice, but trying not to make a big deal out of it since I want Mexico to be the real thing.

Nicyx-I really like your starfish, now I kind of wish I had ordered one for my bouquet.

ARGH!!!! wow... 1 week and 3 days. That is so close!!!!! :-)

Congrats on becoming a Mrs. Lovely that you had a family friend perform the ceremony x

Is anyone else having a big wedding at the RIU?  We already have 70 people BOOKED!!  everything I have been reading seems to apply for smaller weddings.  How do they manage such a big group?  We are doing a beach wedding and really want a private dinner?  We are also wanting to do a private dinner the night before to welcome everyone.

jrb - which Riu? The RPRM?

Dana - you're so close! So sorry to hear about this friend of yours...I would definitely say something as the other girls here have suggested. If you don't it's just going to bother you.

JNagan - your sister is obviously talented when it comes to doing hair. If she doesn't mind doing it I say go for it! Why not save the money!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
