We're having custom rings made, and my DBF ring should cost 600-700$, 14K white gold, depending on the final weight of the metal. We will be getting samples (he's making 2-3 ideas for DBF) in silver next week, to see what we prefer, and get them to wear around for 2-3 weeks (we're running out of time for a longer try out period!)

Here is Mike's Ring:

 

It is 1/2 carat diamonds in a tungsten band. It's called the "tungsten triton" from Kay Jewelers. I think it cost $899 but we bought it on sale for around $650.

FI picked out a Tungsten ring bec. it's not suposed to scratched... plus he says that it goes with his watch. lol. We have not ordered it yet, without any haggling she said $225 so I am sure it would be a bit less when we do order his.

my FI is a marine... we were thinkn about tungsten but that whole "not being able to cut it off your finger at the hospital" is kinda scary!

originally the ring we picked out (well he did) was about $800, it was pretty generic looking.

 

last week i found these really amazing custom rings on etsy that you can get personalized and i asked him if he'd like that one. at first he was reluctant but then when he saw them, and how i made the effort to find something personal he loved it...and it's going to cost about $300 instead.

I got him a tungsten ring with 1 little diamond in it for around 400 also he is getting the cladagh ring i have had since i was 10 tattooed on his ring finger to so that when he is surfing or in the water he can take his ring off and still have a ring on! the tat is around 75 dollars.
