Has anyone brought their top tier home?

You can bring food on to an airplane, it's getting it past security that might be an issue. But Mexico security is nothing like US security.

You are simply not allowed to bring raw food, fresh fruits and vegatable, plants or animals.
The fine for above mentioned items is $500.

I'm not sure how well cake would keep in the heat and the travelling.
(think of all that icing melting... yuck!)

And I also looked up on the US Customs website and like already mentioned it only says no raw vegetables, fruits, and that kind of thing. So, I will be boxing mine up and taking it home with me. I know I could get a replica but if I can help it at all, I want to bring my actual top tier home with us. But I guess I'll know for sure once I go to get on the plane
