This is a great thread. My FI didn't have an opinion on anything, until i made the mistake of sending him a link of some centerpieces I liked. He thought they were tacky and put it upon himself to save our wedding from the tackiness I was planning. We just about called off the wedding over centerpieces. Mind you, he didn't do anything, just called everything i wanted to do "tacky." So we had a nice talk that involved a lot of tears and guilt trips and threats and now he happily accompanies me to Michaels and loves everything I want to do.

HAHAHA - LOL

This thread made me laugh immediately! Not that I don't appreciate that your FI's are all of a sudden jumping in, but I can't imagine that happening for us.

A few months ago, I asked if there was ANYTHING he had in mind in terms of vision, anything he wanted to include, not include...anything he cared about.

He looked over at me (after he tore his focus from Sportsnet) to tell me "Ummm, nope!". "Are you sure?", I said. He said, "Just let me know how much its gonna cost" - Fair enough

So far, so good! Last week someone asked him what he'll be wearing and he answered, "Lindsay hasn't told me yet".

The freedom is great, my MOH has 10 times more input than my FI, but I wish he had at least 1 idea!

We'll see how it all goes down in a few months!

He pretty much sits back and lets me do whatever. He gave me a budget and I promised to stay within it. If I come to a point I need another opinion I ask him and I usually get " I don't care Baby do whatever you want" smile36.gif
Kathi- Dean is the exact same way!!!

my fi usually has an opinion on everything so i was dreading wedding planning with him. Thankfully my fil's reminded him time and time again that "you may be the groom but it's really Danielle's wedding and you should listen to her", i think those words must echo in his head because he's been letting me do whatever i want so far and everytime we disagree an hr later he agrees with me. lol

It's funny cause my FI has been pretty calm, cool and collected EXCEPT I asked him what he thought of a monogram Sarah made for us and he had all sorts of comments. I was so annoyed, but then I thought if this is the only thing he really wants to make an input on then that's fine...it is his wedding too. In the end after three monogram mock ups we got one we both liked.

Oh I feel you all on this. FI has an opinion on everything, and most of the time I appreciate his being involved.

But lately his input is on the budget side of things. I research and research and make a bunch of DIY projects, and then tell him what it is, and I'm all excited about it, and he's all "do we really need that?" UM YES we do. It is our wedding, we are not going to skip something because it cost us 250 bucks! we'll regret it after the fact, so lets just do it, and move on! And besides, we're hardly going to any great lenghts... and my parents are paying for a lot of the wedding. So when I want hyper color changing cups with our monogram for our OOT bag and wedding bar, then by god I will have them! Suck it up. It's 250 bucks, and it would make my heart so very happy!

oh, didn't know I had so much to say about this topic. ha!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
