When we did our site inspection in early July we went photo crazy of different wedding locations there are only a few (due to size) we did not take.  If you would like me to e-mail them to you let me know I have not gotten savy enough with the new format of the blog to post them and there are a ton.  Just let me know if you want Ceremony/reception locations....Spa or Cove side and size....Or if you have an idea which spot and I will see if my  fiance got the shot.

Just shoot me a message.

So I saw a thread on here not too long ago about brides "doing the paperwork" before going to Mexico and just having a symbolic ceremony.  At first I thought, "oh no, I could never do that" ... but I have friends that know people who have had destination weddings, and they have all done the "paperwork" before they went down...so it made me start to wonder if that is a good idea?  Any thoughts on that?? Does anyone know how different the civil ceremony would be from the symbolic??? I wouldn't want it to look any different than a real wedding??  Although one thing I've seen a lot of are pictures of everyone signing the paperwork in the middle of the wedding ceremony, which I could definitely do without -- which would be one perk if we did it before hand. Thoughts!?!?

jszy10 -

I had a symbolic ceremony at Moon Palace in July & it definitely looked & felt like a "real" wedding.  You still sign something in the middle of the ceremony (even though it's symbolic), but you don't have to do the fingerprinting which is done in the legal ceremony.

Just as Lilbuddah said in an earlier post, one of the main reasons to get married at home is the ease of getting a copy of the license later if ever needed.  It's hard enough dealing with a Mexican resort, I can't imagine having to deal with their government if I needed a copy of my marriage certificate in the future.  Not to mention the translation fees, etc.

I felt bad about getting married beforehand too, and so we didn't.  I asked my WC if we could get married afterwards (at home) & she said it wasn't an issue (I printed out the email where she stated that so I'd have proof if necessary when we showed up unmarried).  We just brought our passports to our meeting with our WC, and no issue was ever made of the fact that we didn't have a marriage license.  We got married in a simple ceremony with just my parents when we got back.  Everyone else at the Mexico wedding believed we were married there.

Hey ladies..did anyone use or is anyone planning to use the salon at ASP to do their makeup the day of the wedding? I would love to not stress and have my makeup done for me, but im scared its going to look unnatural or im not going to like it so i would like to know if anyone else had a good/bad experience with them...thanks, nicole

I booked them for a "bridal package" Its a special they are running. I posted it a few pages ago. It includes, Hair, Makeup, Manni and Peddi for around 110-120 I believe. I am going to bring pictures of the make up I want. Earlier in the thread their is some talks about the spa...both good and bad. It seems as tho, if you tell them exactly what you want, it should be ok. I was debating hiring an outside source, but I am way way over budget as it is.

It seems like a lot of people say they like the gazebo on the cove side better but I was also planning on the horse and carriage which doesnt go close to the gazebo there so I am torn...

I personally was a fan of the Gazebo on the Spa side much more intimate and the horse goes right up to the gazebo.

I personally think the SPA is more private and love the way the carriage goes right up to the Gazebo.  But remember no kids on the SPA side.
