Hi Caroline!

My FI and I did a site visit to Aventura and Playacar Palace this past March to pick which place we wanted to get married. While Playacar will be great for our guests to go enjoy a day trip to the beach, we LOVED the charm of ACP/ASP! It really is a beautiful property!

My suggestion is to start writing down any questions that pop in your head on a notepad and take with you. They do site visits quite often, so when Lorena showed us around, she answered many of our questions without us even having to ask. We saw the different venue spaces, asked about capacity with each venue/depending on size of your guest list, we asked questions about the resort credits, the onsite amenities, their wedding packages, the different restaurants, and the room categories (and got to see the room types). I suggest taking lots of pictures - you can upload them on your wedding website (if you have one) as a great 'teaser' for guests! Let me know if I can help you with any specific questions, but otherwise just enjoy the site visit and visualizing your wedding there! :)

Has anyone here had a site visit to Aventura Cove Palace before?   I'm actually going to be having my site visit there next week on Thursday (the week of November 1).

I'm very excited for the trip, but I'm so nervous that I will forgot to ask important questions while I'm there.  Does anyone have any suggestions or questions of things that I should definitely ask during the site visit?  I greatly appreciate any input from former or 'soon to be' brides! Thanks so much, ladies!

Hello Caroline 1118

I am also a new bride considering Aventura Cove Palace for my wedding next year!  cheer2.gifwe are looking at having it in early November 2012 so i will be looking forward to hearing about the weather while you are there!!

I am excited that you are getting to do a site visit!  i just don't think it is in our time limit to do one cool.gif

One of the questions that i would love to ask is if they will allow sky lanterns.  I know that some of the resort do and i would love to bring some down if they are OK with them.

Another thing that in wondering about ( past bride i would love to here your thoughts alsofeedback.gif)  is about the beach like area / sandy area... is it still a nice area even though its not a beach?

Lastly I would ask question in regards to the changes into the Hard Rock Brand?

PS did you know that the 2012 Palace packages are being redesigned by COLIN COWIE!!!!  Celebrity wedding /event planner!  I am so excited to see what they are going to be like!

Congrats to all the brides that are getting married soon!!  Hope you all have the most amazing time with great weather thewave.gif

Hopefully it's going to be ok for the brides already there... This is just aweful...

Hey Kloo,

I am in Cancun right now! I am not getting married at Aventura, since I'm a Beach Palace bride, but I follow any Palace threads since there is a lack of Beach Palace brides. The weather right now is gross but Yesterday morn/afternoon was sunny and Wed- Sun its supposed to be nice here so don't be to upset!

I am so excited for you Alysa.  You are so awesome for checking back with all of us on here.  Enjoy every minute of your vacation and wedding...rain or shine!!!

Caroline - your screen name shows my wedding date.  Is that going to be your date next year?  If so, AWESOME!!!

I leave in 2 weeks so I will have lots to tell you in about 4 weeks hehe.

MissNikki - I have been told by my wedding coordinator that sky lanterns are NOT allowed.  She said its because of the palapas on the beach...fire hazard!  evil.gif

sxcT - I got back on Saturday. My wedding was gorgeous. I'm going to try to write my review on the ASP page were other brides have written their reviews. I'll also post it here as well.  Everything was perfect the only issue I had was that a minor hurricane (Rina) hit the Cancun area and all ASP got was heavy rain and some wind so wedding was postponed from Thursday 27th to Friday 28th. Edith the WC was very helpful and understanding.  I had no problems with her while at the resort considering the hurricane was on its way. I hope to write a detailed review so it can help you and other brides. If you have immediate questions you can e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll reply as soon as I can. I know your wedding is in a few days.

Thanks - Liza

So I really want to hire a DJ - my TA forwarded me Aventura's 'preferred' DJ - J&S AV and while they seem very professional and I'm sure they are fantastic, their prices are MUCH higher (approx. $1500) than DJ Mannia ($990). In my contract it indicates 'no outside vendors' but I was able to get them to make an exception for Del Sol.

Anyone have a concrete answer on what they will/will not allow for DJ services? And if they do allow/make exception for outside DJs, is there really a 'vendor fee' or crazy 'insurance' needed (that would obviously make up the cost for the difference in DJ services)?

Thank you for any insight! My head is starting to spin with all their 'loose' rules! wacko.gif

J-Me...I don't have direct experience with this, but I can say that even if they do allow it, you will definitely have to pay a guest pass fee for each person.  I have also heard that they do require an insurance and may require something in terms of power usage? I'm not certain about those details though.  Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
