    Hi All,

My name is Angela and my fiance Aidan and I are planning a December 2009 wedding in El Coco/Playa Ocatal Costa Rica.

Lots to do and am already feeling a little overwhelmed by the details, so I'm glad there's a place like this to get advice and more information.

We are planning to have a Catholic wedding and have been told by two wedding planners for the area that this is very difficult. If anyone has had a Catholic wedding and has some tips for winning over the padres, please let me know.

    Looking forward to learning here...

Welcome to the forum! Catholic wedding- hmmmm.... if I were getting married in New Orleans that's the way we'd go, but I didn't even look into it for a DW. I know that at Dreams Tulum they allow you to bring your own priest, minister, etc. (as far as I know). BUT, for a Catholic wedding you need a Catholic church. Have you googled Catholic churches in Costa Rica?

                  Welcome to the forum!

You can always have a Catholic ceremony before you leave or after you return and do a symbolic ceremony in CR. That might be the way to go as far as making things easier.
