Friend's SEVEN Year-Old Has a MySpace!

Last night I got a myspace friend request from one of my best friend's daughters. She is only SEVEN. WTH?

I sent mom a text telling her she was too young for a myspace! She said she (daughter) was whining because her older siblings (who are only 13 and 11) have them and so does her mom so she wanted one. IMO, the siblings are too young too, but whatev.

Anyhow, I reported her! ha! I told them she was only seven and not seventeen like she has listed on myspace.

What the heck is she thinking?pokestick.gif

oh martha i know what you mean - my 13 yr old nephew got a myspace page and my brother allowed him to. i only accepted his friend request but put him on a limited view of my profile so he cant see much about me, but i can still see all of his stuff. ive called my bro several times because i saw inappropriate stuff on his son's page. he never does anything about it because he says he can't - he is divorced and the mother allows the kid to do it. maybe i should just report the page so i dont have to worry about it anymore.

I share Glenda's hatred for Myspace personally.

But no way in hell would my kid at 7 have a myspace page. No offense to your friend because I'm sure she's a great mom, but just because a kid whines for something doesn't mean they should get it.

I'd personally love it if Myspace and all similiar sites lost their popularity before Aiden becomes old enough to navigate the interent.

That's just silly...does the kid have a cell phone yet? LOL Good job reporting her :P

Whenever we have a kid they are going to hate us because they are going to have to live by the 70s/80s standards we did - do your homework after school, go outside and play tag until you are tired, come eat dinner, and go to sleep. Simple!

Maura, My niece will be 14 in July and she has been bugging my sister to let her make a myspace. My sister is like no way in heck! Even when she turns 14 and is "allowed" to have one by myspace standards is she getting one....All my family (even my parents) have one and she says she just wants it to keep in touch with family. YA RIGHT! Ain't gonna happen....

Jessica- I actually like MySpace because my family (parents and all my siblings) have one and it is so convenient to "talk" to my sister that is living in Germany since our time zone has a 7 hour difference. It's also a great way to keep in contact with old friends from high school and college....I am so not a phone person, so this works for me. However, I agree that when our children are old enough it will die down because Noah is not getting one....not when he is too young. And that is not an age, it is about maturity!

Jamy--No, no cell phone yet, but her siblings have them so I am sure she is right behind them. I love the mom dearly but she does have parenting issues...

Oh no! That's nuts.

I reported it, but it is still up. I wonder how long it takes to take it down?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
