Is this just for the bride or is it for both?

I get confused with all the parties involved. I wasn't planning on registering because we were hoping people would just come to mexico and I know most in my family give money for weddings but all my friends keep asking. Is this for a bridal shower?
I don't expect two gifts so I guess I am a little confused. hmm

    thanks

I believe traditionally it is a party thrown for the bride and the ladies that are invited to the wedding go to the shower, but you can really do anything you want. I have heard of Jack and Jill showers where its pretty much a BBQ and friends so I say do whatever you want!

the registry is pretty much for the shower but i agree with saraha you can have a coed one if you like. or you can do a honeymoon registry.

My sister-in-law (to be) threw us a "couples shower" which is more casual and for both you and your man, and men and women are both invited. But yes, bridal showers are typically for the bride, and women only :)

Here's a BIG, kind of silly question I have. Is the Bride suppose to know when the Bridal Shower is to take place? Or is it more like a surprise to the bride from her cohostess/friends. Also, I've already registered with an on-line Honeymoon Registry, and I'm thinking about registering with Bed Bath & Beyond mainly because of my Back Home Reception. So should there be a bridal shower for me? I mean wouldn't that be way to many gifts to expect from family & friends? Advice please....

Traditionally the bridal shower is for the bride and women only.

We are doing a mixed-gender "bride and groom" shower with all our fam/friends. We also were not going to register since we thought people coming to our wedding was insane enough, but people kept asking every five seconds so one day I went after work and registered for some things.

I think usually you know when it is - every shower/party that was thrown for us, the host/hostess ok'd the date with us ahead of time, and sent us a copy of the invitation.

And sorry about that triple post earlier!!! I don't know what happened!!! OOPS!

i like the idea of the joint shower. The all women thing seems more like bachelorette material in my opinion.
