Thanks Maggie.  I will check with WC but plan on bringing our own.

I would double check with your WC but if you got it for free then roll with it

Thanks Murmel.  I am going to send WC an email but still be prepared to bring our own.

They provide an Ipod player for your ceremony ONLY! (free of cost)

For any other event you have to play the fee for the sound dock or provide your own. We brought down our sound dock and had no problems using it! (there are electric plugs everywhere) As a backup, especially if you have a small group, the Ipod alarm in your room could work! We saw a group bring the radio/alarm Ipod to the pool area, and had the bartender plug it in. It worked quite well.

Hey girls.  I have been completely MIA since we got home!  Need to catch up AGAIN :).  Just wanted to post a quick picture of the ceremony from above (plus a couple more).  I was trying to wait until I got the professional pics because the coloring isnt quite right on any I've found so far (the sun was rough at 5pm!)...but I needed to share something :)

Jamie - I have a couple of other questions for you...

How much were the flowers at the entrance of your aisle?  Did you send a specific photo to your WC or did you order something from the Lomas site?

Also, do you remember who your minister was? I am worried about the ceremony going smoothly...Did yours go good?

THANKS!!!!

The flowers at the entrance were $60 each, then transferred to the reception as centerpieces.  Totally worth it!  Looked really cool in person.  They have these vases through Lomas, so you could actually just show a pic of mine and your WC would know what you are talking about.  And you can tell them any flower color combo.

For the minister...she was awesome!  I never actually got her name, but the name on the cert is Alina Monroy.  Everyone could understand her perfectly clear and she followed my sermon perfectly (I used their standard with a few minor changes and additional readings).  The only thing that bothered me is she only met with Talis in advance...not me.  But that could've been the WC fault...not hers.  And luckily Talis knew how I (we) wanted everything :).  I would definitely recommend her if your able to request your minister.

Jaime - I love your pictures! Thanks for sharing! Your dress and hair and everything looks great :). Your bouquet...was that in the $200 range and did they wrap it with that ribbon (did you bring your own ribbon?) - I know I'll have more questions for you but for now, welcome home and congratulations!

    • Hello Everyone, I am new here, I heard about this site from a friend of mine that had a destination wedding back in 2012 which was beautiful.  I am leaning towards the DR if I find a place that has all that I am looking for if not Mexico is another great option. Thinking of May 2020 if that is enough time to plan this! I like modern looks, all inclusive for sure.  I definitely want the beach very very close to the pools and rooms, a swim up bar is a must.  I really like the idea of the swim ups in the rooms if possible.  I am going to have friends that bring their kids so it can't be adult only.  I do want to get married on the beach which seems like most of the all inclusive resorts offer. My friend got married at the SENSATORI AZUL BEACH RESORT RIVIERA MAYA and it had all I would want in a resort if anyone has stayed there and has any advice. Thanks for all the help ahead of time.   M&B

    • They forgot the wedding cake topper   Okay, so no big deal - just a once in a lifetime moment. The upsetting part is the wedding coordinator, Dionne, did not seem at all concerned about the mistake. The only reason we got an apology was because we happened to run into her the night before we left. Our wedding was on Saturday we left Wednesday morning. We were told we could escalate our concern to Riu corporate, the wedding coordinator doesn’t have a supervisor on site. Riu corporate said they did their best and apologized. Brides, go to Jamaica, get married, but do yourself a favor and do not go to a Riu resort, especially not Riu Negril. I am certain there are other resorts that would have been in touch immediately and tried to make up for their mistake. Not Riu.
