Thanks....I think I was about on the same wavelength tipping and now I know to assign someone to make sure no one touches the playlist :) Thanks girl you a lifesaver!

Just make sure you tell the person controlling the ipod to keep the playlist in the order you have, don't let anyone make changes!

As for the tipping, we ended up tipping basically $300 to the wedding coordinator for set up and tip, $160 at the reception for the waiters and such, and more.  I tipped my hair / make up stylist $40.  Oh, and at the salon if you have the GIVC incentive (free hair/make up) you still pay the 10% service charge out of pocket.  We tipped the masseuses and we tipped Lomas travel.  Edy and Felipe were awesome though.

Ok...I think I've come to grips with the fact that we should hire a videographer (even though I hate myself on camera!!!) I know a few people have hired cancun video and had a great experience, are there any other suggestions? Also, do we think this means ANOTHER vendor fee?!?!

Thank you so much for this.  It totally helps, and I will remember to try and not get so nitty gritty with some details if they only do it their way in the end.

You looked amazing on your wedding day!!!

:)

I am so excited, had to share!

My TA just got us $190 per person off our guests total price!!!  I explained to her how a bunch of our guests were checking websites here and there, and that the price for our week had dropped, and she was able to bring it down....that is almost $400 a couple they will be saving!

They just better be booking with us now and not be trying to go on their own.  As so many of you have mentioned, I get the reasons behind it (incase the group needs to move etc.), its just convincing them!

Out with the bad, in with the good!!!  ;)

I have been sooo MIA but I wanted to check in on all of the May brides. I know there are plenty of you. Maggie, I am so jealous! I want to go back to Mexico so badly and I know you're on your way. I know you'll have a blast. I'm upset that I've missed so many of your weddings. Congrats to Murmel, Lessismore and Tisha. I was able to skim the almost 200 pages I missed and see your pics. Good job ladies!! I hope I didn't miss anyone else.

For those of you that are friends with me on Facebook, you know I am preggers. I am 5 months pregnant and found out this week we're having a girl!!! I said all of that because I have been looking into joining another forum and getting info from people in my same situation BUT I have to say that none compare to this one. I know I've said it before and I'll say it again, there's no place like BDW. The support and info I got here was priceless and I wish I could find that in a forum for expectant mothers but no such luck.

Anyway, happy planning to you all and although I'm not on as much if anyone needs anything, my email is [email protected].

Congratulations! I know there is an "expectant mom" section on BDW!

I have been stressing about the OOT bags and buying stuff here and there for them....  I don't really "love" them tho, and the cost just keeps going up.  I would love for past brides too post their guests reviews on how great or not-great they really are....  because I do wonder! :)

I made our guests OOT bags, and they were tote bag size (large enough to fit a beach towel). We saw all of our guests using the bag. As for the contents....hmm.. I think people liked the little snack stuff (we bought that locally in Mexico), our first aid kits and the info booklet (ie. when things were happening, info about tours, etc.). Other than that I would not worry to much about filling up the bag.

If you have a photographer from a different company, then you have to pay another vendor fee for the videographer. Maybe the photographer has someone from the same company who does videography?

Ladies....

Chris' aunt and uncle are school teachers and want to come to our wedding, but can only stay for 3 nights (so they only miss 2 days of school rather then 5).  I am going to check with my TA, but did/does anyones guests plan on staying for less then 7 days?  If so, did they have to stay at another hotel?  Not sure what their best option is....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
