I've been away for awhile busy wrapping up work stuff as well as wedding planning.  Just wanted to let you know that our photog, Elizabeth Medina, just posted a new blog of an AS wedding she recently shot.  Thought you all might enjoy a little AS inspiration. :-)  It got me excited and ready to wed! :-)

Also, Congrats to our two AS forum brides currently enjoying the AS experience!  Can't wait to hear all about it!  I know I owe my wedding day twin an email, but aside from that, I hope you are all well!  All the best!

Where did you ladies see this bonfire setup? Where is it held? I haven't seen it in the services catalog at all.

We got an all in deal for $1575 per person.  (deal?  not sure...hahhaha, but it was the lowest price we had come across)....

I don't know where else they might be looking, but a lot of people think if they wait last minute they can get it cheaper...I don't know how else to respond but to tell them how often the hotel sells out!  I took the risk of putting down the deposit for my peace of mind, I will be OK if we lose a couple hundred.

The legal ceremony is sounding more and more like a pain in the butt....and with more thought, the idea of getting married here sounds like it won't take away from the day...that was what I was worried about.

I assumed whomever was officiating our wedding would have an accent, but its sounding like the judges that do the legal are harder to understand then the ministers?  hmmmmmmmm......

That price seems great to me! We were around the same price for late January. I would really try telling your guests that this hotel really does sell out fast! And the likely hood of them getting a better price is slim to none! (show them the room rates off the Azul website, then they'll really think it's a steal!) If you want, tell your friends to contact me, I 'll confirm for them that they should not wait. We had to to actually confirm with the hotel when we got there that none of our guests would be sent to other hotels because they were over booked!

If you want to do a legal ceremony in the Toronto area, there are actually judges that will come out to your house and do it for you. (i think it was about $300, included the paperwork). I am sure I can dig up the name if you want it. That way no one has to know. And other than my MOH, my sister, the best man and husband's parents NO ONE knows we got legally married at home. The ceremony sounded so good in Mexico, that no one was the wiser. The lady/minister that did our ceremony was lovely. And yes, she had an accent, but it was no problem to understand her. The only tip off is that you don't do the fingerprinting (which you  have to do for the legal ceremony), and just the couple and minister sign the documents, no witnesses.

It seemed to me, that they offer this bonfire party, but rarely ever do it. So when they actually have to do it, it's sort of thrown together.

Do you remember the name of the woman who performed your ceremony? Did you have an entire script written out (do they send you something to start from)? When did you actually meet her? Thanks!!!

My WC sent me a symbolic Script that they like to use that I then cut way back to make a short version but my WC said they were open to changes. Email me at maggieandjay2012@hotmail.com and I will send mine to you . Or I posted it as an attachment in the last week on this thread

Ive been on this post for a while, not really posting anything more like "observing"!! LOL!! I must say you ladies are efficient. I haven't even booked my day yet, but I feel like I know everything that I need and want. cheer2.gif I am so grateful to have come across this forum.

Question: I'm sure it has been mentioned already but what is the name of the restaurant that has what seems to look like blue jellyfish on the ceiling? I saw a few receptions done there by Elizabeth Medina.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
