The Resort is letting me bring my own IPOD Home Deck which i have used for many a party here so that is what I am going with for the Welcome Party

For the reception I rented their sound system for $250

You can rent a $250 sound system from them that comes with a mic. I have a friend coming to the wedding who is a DJ so he is going to serve as my MC for the evening

Hey Amy,

Didn't you have the Zocalo Al Fresco for your reception?  That is where we are having ours. My questions to you...how did you decorate?  Did you bring decorations?  Was there something you wished you had brought or done?  Any help would be appreciated!!!  Thanks!msnwink.gif

I know...I'm so sad :(  I've been trying to email her for the past few weeks and haven't really heard back so I emailed my TA to see what was going on...last week she was saying they were just busy and that Kiara had said she would email me....but today....when I still hadn't heard anything, I emailed my TA again and she got back to me and said Kiara had left and that Faith (who overlooks all the wedding) was figuring out things and reorganizing....

If I hear anything else..I will definitely post....

Mahalo, I am doing the exact same colors just the week after you!  Let me know what kind of reply or pics you get from the WC. I emailed her my inspiration pics for some pricing estimates, but haven't heard back from her.  Are you doing a beach wedding?  What color tulle are you using on the ceremony site?  What about chair bows?  I was thinking we may be able to share costs!!

Hey,

Well my wedding is a bit different as we are having a catholic ceremony in the chapel at El Dorado and then reception back at AS.  I am not getting chair bows for church as the chairs are wooden and I just don't feel they are necessary in the church (although would for sure if we got married on the beach) I can try and post the flower list she gave me to look at.  The funny thing is I get a free bouquet up to $50, but the list I got they all start at $60 lol.  i will see if I can post it or else with pm you for your email and i can forward it.  Also for the reception, we have chosen to do dinner at the Spoon so not really decorating.  (they said I pay $3 per candle and $7 for coloured table runners if I want decorations) so I am not really getting much in the way of decorations.  Maybe just flowers at the church I think.  My wedding coordinator is Valeria, she has been really great at getting back to me quickly on any questions I've had.

To the other brides having their reception at Spoon, we will have to do some digging around and find some pics of how it's decorated for a wedding!  FI and I really can't afford to have a private reception (that was kind of the whole point of doing a destination wedding at an all inclusive! ) and as our group is so small I don't think the reception would be great anyways.  Instead I am hoping the disco is open!  I am pretty excited, think we will all be in such a happy mood and between my super shy fiance and divorced parents, am glad to get out of the traditional reception, parents dance etc etc.

Flowers

** we chose the pearl package so my bridal bouquet (up to $50) is included.  I haven't seen one under $60 but whatever.

You have included a Bridal bouquet, from our website,  you can choose from
any model that costs 50 usd or upgrade and pay  the difference, and a grooms
Buttoniere...please let me know which color and flower you would like to
request for this: you can choose from: roses, lilies, Casablanca's, daisies.
For imported flowers, there is a 10 usd surcharge on the Buttoniere.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
