Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Just realizing that unlike you all , i guess we are getting off to a late start in planning this wedding. We plan to be at the resort on the week of Jan 10/11. But are just starting all of this planning now, I have been to a wedding in Jamaica before, however I guess she just made it look easier then it was! So I guess this is a call for help can anyone tell me the first steps!

Thanks so much

Jen

Hi Ladies...I'm pretty new to this site (other than reading through a couple different threads, this one is the longest I've come across!)

We have yet to decide on the resort we'll have our wedding at next year but Azul Sensatori is in the top 3. We plan to visit in mid-November to decide for sure.

Question for all of you...I see that there are a lot of Spring brides but that might be too soon for us. What's everyone's opinion on weather in the area and when it's best? We had our hearts set on early October but now I'm reading more and more that talks about a lot of rain during that time. Has anyone been in fall? If October isn't ideal, is June or July totally out of the question? Thanks in advance for your input!

Hey everyone, I haven't been on here in sooo long!  I just got my photos from Erik Rodriguez, and I love them.  If anyone would like to see them, add me on facebook (meghan yao), and ask any questions as well.  It's easier for me to answer questions on fb then scrolling through all these posts lol.

WELCOME! The other lovely ladies can tell you for sure about the fall and the pros and cons but the only big one I can think of is Hurricane Season and that would increase your chance of rain but those are so few and far between :)

Hey girls,

Has anyone considered skipping the cake?  I can't decide if I really want/need a cake.

Do any of our married girls have pics of your cake?

Oh, and my bridesmaid realized that it wasn't fair to me to skip my wedding based on her feelings for another guest, so it's all good now! :o)

Oh, and many of you don't know since I've been planning my wedding for a while, but I wasn't officially engaged yet.  I got the proper proposal this past weekend on a surprise trip to NYC.  Here's a pic.  He is the greatest.  I love him, I love my ring, and I am a happy girl!! proposal.jpg

That is awesome :)  And I LOOOOVE that you had your wedding basically all done (invites and all) without being officially engaged...too funny!

Ha ha, yeah, I tend to do things backwards, hence the 13 year old child!!  :o)  Well, we had discussed it and kind of decided a time frame.  I picked out my ring, and he dilly dallied thinking he could just go pick it up.  Then something came up with some money coming in so he waited.  When we finally discussed the ring again, he hadn't ordered it, and it was a 6-8 week time frame to get it in.  My finger is a size 4!!!  So, we went ahead and booked (not to lose the date), and it just rolled from there!  It is pretty funny, but it's all good.  I told everyone it's Officially Official now. :o)

First off, welcome to all the new ladies.  Seems to be a few of them rolling in and I'm not really keeping up to speed on who's around here.  So WELCOME one and all.  thewave.gif

Meghan - I asked you to be my facebook friend.  :-)  Can't wait to see your pics!

TLGnhci - We're kind of skipping the cake.  Just going to get the small $60 one for cutting purposes (I'm totally not for this but FI, my mother and apparently everyone else under the sun thinks photo ops are necessary).  We're going to just order extra petit fours (if we think that's needed) and also I'm going cake box favours that I'll arrange like a wedding cake (filled w/ candies).

Glad to hear that your bm decided to put her feelings aside for your wedding.  That's great news.  And CONGRATS  cheer2.gifon the "official" engagement.  Size 4?!?!!?  Holy tiny fingers batman!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
