Wedding Gowns - You VS Model

Recommended Posts

Paraisobeachbride2009-I love that dress! I saw it in a mag and wish i could have seen it in person. Funny cause it caught my eye cause that models hairstyle is exactly what I want to do. Got to find a close up. You look awesome!

I'm completely in love with my dress too, NJ! :) It's funny, the first time I went to that bridal shop, I didn't even notice it on the rack, the bridal shop coordinator picked it out for me, but I couldn't be happier with it! I love that hairstyle too and might consider doing something similar. :)

What a fun thread! Here is my dress (Maggie Sottero's Alexandria) on the itty bitty model:

Here is me in the dress (warning: not a good picture--I had to sneak the pic with a camera phone due to the store's stupid no picture taking policy. Also doesn't help that I'm barefoot in the picture, and the dress is 4 sizes too big! But you get the general idea!)

Thanks, girls for your compliments! I was starting to worry that I looked horrible in the dress... My wedding date got unexpectedly moved up 2 months, so I had to buy a dress ASAP, and I felt like maybe I chose too quickly. I guess I'm at the point that a lot of brides go through -- bridal dress anxiety! I do, however, love Maggie Sottero dresses; those corsets really make your waist look tiny! And the price is great too! (Mine was $860).

Oh, and Anacgarcia--that dress is gorgeous! Who's the designer?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
