Ok that makes me feel better. Do you remember who did your hair? I heard they like a LOT of hairspray and one person mentions they favor 80's style hair so I was a little scared. I have a bunch of lip glosses I like, I have no lips so I never wear lipstick lol

Doris did my hair and make up. She also did one of my BMs hair (also looked just like the picture). The overuse of hairspray is a definite bonus b/c it is super windy outside and if you're anything like me, my hair wilts in the heat. If you don't have a picture or a clue what you want it may turn out big & 80s but if you are specific they seemed to be able to give you whatever you want. My other BMs all had different people and their hair turned out great.

Good call on the lip gloss. I just can't stand lipstick so I stick to my yummy flavored chapsticks. :)

I don't know what you guys chose to do, but I am getting married here by a JP and then doing a symbolic ceremony because the whole sanitary issue with the blood test. I was just not thrilled about paying some random "Dr." in the hotel to stick me with a needle. Anyway, I don't judge, but, I do work in health care, and you should definitely read this post before getting it done, even if it's just to make sure they follow universal precautions. I am fairly certain they do it to collect $50 and nothing more. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t19422
I didn't make my last post very clear. You are right, you cannot ship stuff to Moon Palace. We would have done that if we could. We are delivering OOT bags to people's homes during the week before we leave. I am going to put a note on them that states that we just didn't have the room to get them down there to hand out and Please bring them when they come.

We are just doing the symbolic ceremony.... for several reasons, your reason included.

I have photos of how I want my hair and am going to take a chance. I have very curly hair and I am going to wash it and let it air dry before I go to my appt. It should be just a matter of them arranging it and making it stay on my head..... at least I hope so.

I am hoping for the best on the makeup. Did some of you say they would use makeup we bring with us? I've been sampling and buying new makeup for several weeks now. Texas is a good place to test it out in the heat. I have found a great combination that works well for me.

I am very excited!!! We will be in cancun, hopefully, sipping a nice cold drink in exactly 240 hours (10 days)!! WOW! I am glad we are going down 6 days before to check the place out. We have never been there! We will be there for a total of 11 days.

I hope, like everyone has stated, they make it into a wedding dream come true!

I am makeing lists everywhere and going shopping almost every day at lunch and after work...... Today's lunch trip - Ulta for travel gear / hair product / make up remover and REI for hydration / electrolyte replacement additives (for the tours and nasty hang-overs!!!). I also threw in some travel size bug spray. They say it is pretty bad in the jungles where the tours take you.

I am sure they'd use whatever you brought, less cost for them :-) I am a sephora addict, though I don't wear makeup except for special occasions....it's weird, but I do have some great colors i might bring with me.

OK i understand...well, I am going to just email everyone just in case we can't get the reception to hand out itineraries. I mean, what do they do for the huge conventions they have there? The people have to know where to go.

I am a recent Sephora addict. Never had been into the store until about a month and a half ago. Since then, I have qualified for several deluxe samples (if you know what I mean). I have dropped a pretty penny with them......... A little note though, I have also tried many things via their samples then bought them on Ebay for as much as a 1/4 of the price. One of my Smashbox brushes would of cost me $48 at Sephora and I bought it on Ebay for $10, free shipping!

I hope they will use my makeup but if not, I have my stuff for the other nights.

haha I get emails for their "specials" all the time, they are too good to be true so I HAVE to buy them, right? I get deluxe samples every time i buy. Next time your order, go to Coupon codes and discounts for 30,000 online stores! RetailMeNot.com and search for a coupon code, they always work. They used to let you use more than one but I think they cracked down on that.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
