    Nic,

I am sorry to hear that.... I just got married in March and we did the pool side reception but it was based on the type of bar we got and then per person/per hour (I was also dealing with Eugenia as I got married in Akumal). We got the Special Bar and paid $11 per person ($5 the first hour, $3 for the remaining 2 hours). We also were able to order anything and everything - not just the cocktails listed for the type of bar. I would just write back and try to clarify that you want the reception?

Anyway, I hope you get it figured out...

In one of the first emails she sent me she gave me a quote for the poolside party which was $1,070 for 40 people including special bar and DJ.....I presumed (stupidly) that she had quoted me for 40 people as I had said that we may have between 30-40 people attending....Anyway I have gone ahead and booked DJ Bijan after reading reviews and had emailed her again asking for a quote without the resort DJ and for 25 Adults & 6 Children as we haven't got as many people coming now as first thought. She has replied back stating that the poolside reception is a package price of $1,070 and is not per person??? ( We get married 24th October 2012 if that makes a difference? - not sure if its recently changed??)

Did anyone else have this before stating which price bar they wanted and getting the price pp per hour for that?

    Thanks

    Nic.x

Jazmin's english isn't the best - and it says 'per groups' so I'm not sure...

I believe it was $110 per person for the gold member! They get better seats and view of the stage :). And yes, unfortunately if some guests go with gold then your group will be separated. When we went they had a certain section for all the GBP gold members, and GBP standard tickets.

A few questions for past brides :)

Did the restaurant staff cut your wedding cake for the guests after you and your husband cut the first piece?

My fiance and I would like to add an hour to our pool side reception.  Is this an option? If so, how much would it cost?

Hi Maria! Yes, the staff does cut the wedding cake for you after the first cut by you and your husband. We had the poolside reception until 11, but could have definitely stayed longer. You might need to make that special request to your WC :)

We asked our WC if we could have the poolside reception later and were told no, the latest they could do was 11. We did our cake cutting at the reception and had to do it ourselves.

Hi Ladies - i've seen a lot of debate on BDW regarding starfish and people being allowed to bring them into Mexico for their decor. I'm wanting to use them for my chairs during the ceremony but I dont want to run into trouble with customs etc.
Have any of you past brides brought these in? Is there a way to bring them without getting them taken away? OR is there somewhere i can buy them in Playa Del Carmen?
