I'm lucky because I can FedEx all my OOT bag stuff ahead of time to my wedding planners' team office in Maui before we go. I have no idea how much it will cost me, but I would rather do that than worry about bringing it all with us on the plane etc. I know you can't really do that for Mexico which is too bad sad.gif
You're so lucky you can ship stuff! I have a feeling we are going to be lugging (and paying for) a lot of suitcases to Mexico.

For checked luggage we will have 3 bog suitcases, sporting goods bag, playpen. Then our carry-on luggage will be 3 bags and our dresses. The stroller will be checked at the door when boarding, and then we get it back on the tarmac in Punta Cana.

I haven't actually test packed, but I know what are suitcases usually look like when we go on a trip, and how much room we should still have. It will be our first trip since Justin, but Hailey has a big suitcase this time that is probably 3 times the size as her old little one, so we should be good.

I know, the kids have a lot of stuff! We usually end up with less of their stuff when we return, but yeah, with the dresses and all the extras, it's going to be a lot. We have a friend who offered us his FedEx discount to ship our stuff, it's not that I don't trust Fed Ex, I don't trust the hotel. I would be SO PISSED if my stuff somehow disappeared in transition.

FI got his pants last night from Island Importers. They are nice. He said he felt left out because I get a package at least once a week and he never gets anything! He is too funny. Now we are waiting on shirts and shoes to arrive. He ordered some Teva sandals from Overstock ( I have no clue what the look like), and the shirts from the Guyabera store. He bought the shoes for all of the groomsmen as a gift.

We've changed the date of our assembly party to next week. YAY! I can finally get the invitations out!

I haven't test packed other than my carryon suitcase. I really didn't fit much in there like I was anticipating so I know I'm going to bringing a lot. Our OOT bags alone might not even fit in one suitcase. We bought two new luggage sets from Macy's not that long ago when they were on sale. I still have my old big suitcase that I can use if needed so I'm hoping between the two of us we'll have enough room. We'll be bringing back a lot of empty suitcases so that is the part I am most pissed about since we'll have to pay to check them and there is nothing in them other than empty suitcases!

I am hoping to get by with three check bags and two carry ons plus dress. I hope this is realistic. I know coming home we will hopefully be lighter in weight (just not luggage) because of the lack of OOT stuff in our luggage, yeah!!

Celina, that will be awesome to have your assembly party!! What a relief that will be to get those out in the mail!

It is amor. That is cute that you are getting them engraved.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
