Help!! What to do about pinched nerve in neck?

Recommended Posts

Thanks guys. I took 2 ibuprofen so far. We'll see what that does. This has never happened to me before... ugh. I feel like I'm being a baby but when I move there is serious pain. I would like to say that my left arm feels a bit numb or tingly but I could be imagining it.. heh.

It hurts.....so don't think you're being a baby! I would go see your Dr though, because the pain could get worse..... Rest up if you can.

neck pain is the worst IMO. I had severe whiplash and it's never been the same since. Some mornings I swear I experience the whole head rolling/ charlie horse feeling. It sucks and it's brutal. I usually book an emergency massage appointment and my therapist gets into the tissue and works it out. It hurts like a bitch but a few days later I'm fine. It happens once every 3 months... I also get migraines because of it. Ugh

So has anyone ever tried acupuncture? I've heard it can help heal it not necessarily puts a band aid on it.

You should def get it checked out by a doctor b/c you never know what it might be. I remember you saying that you do S factor classes. Have you done any streneous activity recently? Maybe you threw your head back too far in one of these classes and it caused you pain to your neck?

oh my goodness how scary. The neck always scares me. LIke when you accidentally pop it and you have that severe pain that just shoots down your neck and burns. I always get scared that it's going to paralyze me.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to be on ibuprofen all day and hot and cold compresses. If it's still there tomorrow I will go to a doctor to get it checked out.

Glenda, yes I did have my pole dancing classes last night but I didn't do anything out of the ordinary.. however you could be right. Without realizing it I could have thrown my body slightly off when I was going upside down or something.. :)

Sometimes you don't have to do anything out of the ordinary. It could just be the repetative motions that caused it to tense up and give you that pain. I'm sure it was that and if you just relax it and take medication you will feel so much better. I'm sending you good vibes so that you will feel better.

Acupuncture totally has taken my pain away when I've had a bad back. I've had it done a few times after screwing my back up. It really did help a lot!

Maybe try a deep tissue massage. My girlfriend has massaged the knots out of me. The massages hurt like hell, and they're so intense, but really helped me out. Just remember to breathe!
