Oh yikes - I totally know what you are talking about. Like you couldn't even lift your head off the pillow because it seems like it weighs a ton. And then you probably had to literally roll yourself out of bed...totally been there.

Definitely take some ibuprofen if you are able to do that - like I would take 800 mg personally. Ice the area if possible - I know, not pleasant, but really a good thing to do at this point. Also, laying flat on your back with your legs elevated can start to straighten things out a bit. I used to see an osteopath to straighten things out when they got really bad too.

Oh yes, definitely if you have a muscle relaxer & you don't have to go anywhere - take it!

I feel really bad for you because I know exactly what your are feeling...it almost feels like two bones are crushing together and the slightest movement can result in pass out level pain. You poor thing sad.gif

Also, another thing I thought of...if you are motivated enough to get yourself to an urgent care/doctors on duty type clinic, they will most likely give you a shot of Toradol to cut the pain & start relaxing the muscles. Then they can write you a script for some relaxers maybe.

This happened to me right before my sister's wedding 18 months ago.........it hurt! I couldn't drive because I couldn't turn my neck to look.... I feel your pain! I thought it was the same thing, a pinched nerve, but I ended up going to my Dr and she prescribed my a medrodose pack and muscle relaxers. After a day or two the pain subsided and I move my neck again. She thought it was due the stress of dealing with my bridezilla sister....ahahaha!

It sounds like a muscular problem. Well, hopefully that is what it is.

Has this happened before?

Is it an ongoing problem (weeks or months long)?

Does your head, face or neck feel numb or tingly?

I am dealing with some sort of neurological issue in my neck and head right now which is why I ask. If it is not a continuous thing lasting a long time, chances are it is muscular. In that case some rest, ice pack or even a chiropractor if needed should clear it up for ya. Some muscle relaxers and some painkillers work wonders too.

Hope you feel better soon!

If you think it's a pinched nerve you need to see a doctor. Is there any numbness of tingling down your arm?

If not, it's probably a muscle injury so ice it for about 20 minutes then put a heating pad on it for 20-30 minutes. Muscle relaxers and/or ibuprofin should help too! Just don't take the two together--it's bad for your stomach & kidneys.

That is what always worked for me! I am not a doctor so don't quote me!

I find that this happens to me if I sleep with my arms over my head...also stress is a big contributor as well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
