After reading all the responses to Alyssa's thread on the recession, it looks like maybe we could use a few tips. Or an oil rig to share! What is your favorite way to save money?

My FI and I try to carpool at least 2 to 3 times a week to cut back on gas expenses!

Oh Ya I do that too, that does save a lot! Im wierd and cant drink out of those coffee plastic cups that you can take to go...so instead I buy the large paper ones that are insulated from Costco..still inexpensive and quite easy cause I throw them out at work- no need for washing!

I do that sometimes too! I ran out though, so I've been using my plastic travel mugs.

We do not eat out to save money. It can really add up. I don't love to cook but am getting better. Eating the same thing over and over gets boring! And it's always better when someone else makes it for you! Its nice to be home together though! (and save $)

i loooove shopping. i have this need to buy stuff. it's like a sick addiction

so i set a shopping limit for myself every week. i can only spend $100 a week on myself (clothes, dvd's, lattes, etc). if i don't stay in my limits, whatever i've gone over comes out of my limit for the next week.

-We only eat out once a month.

                      -Pack a lunch for FI.

                      - Run at the park and use the weights we have at our house instead of having a gym membership.
